i'm not an expert, but someone (ady or angel) did a fair job cleaning up the previous release of the biggs scene. surely they could do a pretty awesome job with this release?

It can be done. Would just take some AE work. I'll try to restore the scene of Luke building a lightsaber. I've been waiting a long time for that one.

Inspired by the Godfather Part II and a revamp of Star Wars: Reborn
It's beautiful!!!
The DVD9 of ANHR has Ady's attempt to clean it up.fishmanlee said:

This is a pretty bad fanedit.
...
Wait, what?
They could be cleaned to look damn good, but I don't see too much point in it. Though if somebody was passionate enough, it would be cool. I'd like to see them cleaned up, but to be honest, I don't mind the quality. I'm shocked they are that clean to be honest.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You haven't seen the blue milk scene yet....THAT's what I call clean ;) (maybe it could go back into an edit)

I dont think so. Ady said that he stabilize the frame rate. (not sure if he did some CC) The clean up was done by be for a test :)

Nice video. It has the same problem that ANH has. Terrible set sounds that are loud and not carefully done. Footsteps cracks and booms all over the place. :/

Can't wait to see what TMBTM does with these. ;)
Where were you in '77?
So good to finally see Red Leader's line about meeting Luke's father. Not sure why that needed cutting, ever, and could totally see it being in ARSE.

All the noise in that scene can be lessened. It's scenes like the Anchorhead scenes with Luke and Biggs that are the worst, because a lot of noise takes place during dialogue.

The movie itself is like that. I would love a new artificial mix that everything is controllable and interchangeable no random loud footsteps or cheap set sounds ;)
The guys from tron legacy explain how a good sound mix can be and all the difficulties they had.

Personally I wish there was much more from A New Hope. I would have loved to see more of the Death Star footage that appeared in the "Lost Cut".
Obviously they didn't go back to the original negatives for these deleted scenes.
The blue milk scene is interesting only from a standpoint of "Wow, new shot!". Other than that, I don't really see the point of being in an edit. Just my opinion.

Agreed. I'd love to see a 'workprint' version of Star Wars. Between these scenes and the reconstructions in Deleted Magic and Star Wars Begins, a GOUT based project would look good. Especially if some on-set audio can be added to more scenes.
My thoughts too.mrbenja0618 said:

I think this is a fair if off-topic question, but what the hell is ARSE? Are we really calling something ARSE?
I can't wait for "Frink's Uniformly Comedic Kit" to be finished, also known as...
ARSE is short for ANH:R:SE which stands for "A New Hope : Revisited : Special Edition" which refers to the HD redo of "A New Hope : Revisited" that Adywan'll be doing after he does ROTJ:R but before he tackles his prequel project.
It has associations in my head with the line that someone on here came up with about how Lucas's attempts at fixing the films are only half-assed, but here at OT.com, we go full-assed!
But yeah, it's a joke.
I think it's awesome, personally. Just wanted to know what it meant.
I'm hoping my Frink one catches on.
Can anyone report if any of the TPM deleted scenes are in remotely usable quality?
Funny, I came up with both!timdiggerm said:

Yeah, but the lightsaber in your sig doesn't even have a white-hot core, so what do you really know, anyway?
Ignoring the first bit of this one (which is now perhaps one of the most awkward Star Wars moments... ever), the rest is actually pretty good. Leia's attitude comes through loud and clear.

The official title I think will be ANHRHD, but ARSE just rolls off the tongue!
Keep it PG, dude.
