Star Wars Sound Effects Archive - A collection of SW sounds for use in Fan Edits (* unfinished project *) — Page 5

I'm going to have to put a stop to PMing links for the timebeing as I'd really rather provide the links once everything is assembled and the archive completed. Sorry for the inconvenience. The archive isn't dead, just taking a lot longer as there are thousands and thousands to go through (many duplicates) and it's difficult to settle on a handful of sounds to represent the best of a certain type.

Also I have been very busy with other things and have not had access to the computer in question for some time.

I wish you the best of luck Brash. Sound is by far my favorite element in films and this projects looks to be promising.

And good to know another Mac user!

Brash, could you please send me a PM with the link to the archive? I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you :)

Hi Brash,

Please can I get a link to the SFX from Star Wars Galaxies?

Thanks!

Hey, I am working on a video for a mockup, with the sound effects replace, I need these effects (I had them from the old Sound Bunker site but...): Tatooine wind, Jedi Knight vocal effects (pain shouts grunts), and other ambiences, do any of brash's files include these?

I'm wondering if any of Hamill's voice work for Wing Commander would be a useful resource.

I'm still waiting for an update...this thing was invaluable to me on TRM.

Very sorry updates have been sparse. I'd not long got back into working on this after a long absence from it. The computer I used was in storage and I've had a lot of stuff on including a house move. Admittedly I only moved 2 doors down, but there's far less room for my stuff in this house. There was no more collecting of sounds left, all I've been doing for some time is just putting them in named folders by category. Unfortunately, last week I got the dreaded message saying the hard drive needed formatting before I could access it.

I had no choice but to format, but immediately ran Recuva and rescued ALL the files on there. Nothing was lost as far as I can tell. However, as anyone who's used recovery software before will know, when it identifies and then saves the deleted files, you get all the files but no folders. So every bit of work I did in sorting the files into their relevant folders by category is lost. Not only that, but any archives I downloaded or ripped originally which were also all in folders are also now unsorted.

Absolutely chaotic! I wish I'd had an extra harddrive to run as a raid clone so this could never have happened.

So basically I'm back to square one. In fact I'm back even further than that as the files I had originally aren't even sorted anymore!

Well I feel stupid. Didn't realise it was even an option on Recuva. Unfortunately since backing everything up, the harddrive has been filled up again when I moved everything back, so now all the sectors have been rewritten :-(

I must be blind or something but I never did see a way to get the sound effects. Could you please tell me what I missed?

Oh it is.

We are old friends.

I hope the Octopus isn't keeping you up Mr Kromwell.

I've recently been playing a few oldish computer games.

Beyond Good And Evil has some troop chatter which at times sounds very much like the sort of things that the stormies said in ANH.

Republic Commando has some excellent sound design.

The battledroids sound much less silly and even mechanically spooky in that game.

I wish the Geonosians were as creepy in AOTC as in the game too (they have touches of Cameron's Aliens which would be picked up by the television show later but not done quite as well).

Maybe sourcing some sounds from the various Aliens and AVP games would make those creatures at least sound more menacing.

Any updates?  The time has come to begin my own fan edit, and sound is going to play a major role in what I have in mind.

Please share what you've compiled so far.  You can always release new versions as you update.  Give the collection version numbers.  Please!

I'm making a project and I really need all of the Republic Commando SFX, anyway you could PM them to me?

Is this at all still alive? I could really use the sounds for my Star Wars RPG

I had embarked on a project to try to capture/find/beg/borrow/steal good sound effects for Star Wars for personal use as a ringtone theme on my phone . . . for instance, the Clone Wars wrist comm ringtone noise would make a good ringtone, and other computery noises would be divine as well.

I would love to take a look through the collection, however despite my best efforts I can find it nowhere.   Seemingly, the only folks who have it are the ones who got it PM'ed or managed to score the link for the week it was up in 2011, and the Wayback Machine didn't archive the page until February 2011 after the original download link was removed (and the link was to MegaUpload anyway, but might've included the filename at least for searching elsewhere).

I really don't want to have to re-invent the wheel.   Is there a chance anyone who got it initially could at least point me to the filename, or if not, upload somewhere, or if not, be willing to burn it and I'd send self-addressed stamped envelope and the whole nine yards?

I see that some of you, such as Frink who initially made the post to have the link removed, have enjoyed the use of the collection.   And yet, it is gone from the collective mind of the internet.   That's a very sad loss for everyone else.

Help me, originaltrilogy.com . . . you're my only hope.

Alas, no responses.  In the meantime, though, let me share http://www.nolettershome.info/sounds/ ... that should take you to three files of the wrist communicators from The Clone Wars.  Perhaps that will prove my goodwill to those who have Brash's works available.  Thanks!
