yes! the chinstrap has changed. i was going to say that the lines weren't an inconsistency on the helmet, as the image was flipped, thus everything would be sort of inconsistent (trick question!).

just a question to the general more learned masses. i heard GL made an initial cut of ESB when he was mid-breakdown which was overall perceived to be terrible. upon reflection he agreed, so Marcia and Kershner made their cut which was the final item.

a) is this true?

Yes, except it was Paul Hirsch and Kersh, not Marcia.

ADY,

Well, just seen the blurays of the OT. Empire looks to me to have gotten away unscathed. Didnt notice any digital tweaks, although been a year since I saw it last as I was waiting to see the Adywan edit. However I must say, it looked gorgious! Ady, will you be putting some of your fx/edits etc over a bluray version?

I have your New Hope edit, and love it! But its at the low res avi, and its the first release of it you did. So when I compared it to the new bluray the picture quality is a huge step down. Are you planning a higher res release of New Hope? I hate that the bluray didnt even fix the lightsabers, and seeing only 4 tie fighters in the final battle now looks kinda silly.

As for Return of the Jedi, Jesus! What a mess. The NOOO clip is getting all the attention, but what seems worse to me is the amplified bad dated Mattes. There are now boxes around the speeder bikes, Grey boxes around the space ships in space. A hexagon around the Deathstar.Much work to do there, I don't envy you there. Well, actually I do, I would love to have a go at it. Pink lightsabers throughout too.

What pains me most of all, is I was imagining that this whole time, that Lucas and/or his ILM team, where fully aware of your edits. And were silently impressed and so let what your doing slide. And was hoping that his team would be trying to match what you were doing then releasing them on bluray.

Maybe thats just fantasyland I was in. What a shame! Still, your edits of these films, now more than before, will go down in history!

Ady is already hard at work (and probably closer than not to the final stages of) Empire Revisited. I believe his source is an HD broadcast. Among other, more serious reasons, the delay in its release was partly due to his desire to see what the Blu Rays might offer, but I'm assuming that at this point he won't be taking much of anything from them.

If the AVI is too low-res for you, have you checked out the DVD-5 or DVD-9 versions? Also, Ady WILL be releasing an HD version of ANH:R, but it will be 720p, not 1080p, and it will not be coming out until after he completes his work with ROTJ. If you have any other questions, I suggest you follow the link below. All of your questions could have been answered there in the first place...

Thanks Cap, Glad theres a higher res version out there. 720p is great as 1080p freezes up on my old PC.

I have not seen the DVD-5 or DVD-9. Where can they be found? Could Anyone PM me a straight link? Had trouble finding the fan-edits from fanedit.org so i gave up and stuck with my old avi for years.

Which of 5 or 9 is better? I'm unfamiliar with those formats. Are they USA DVDs?

My Apologies!

Here, let me bring it all back on track....

Juicy Empire Strikes Back deleted scene.....

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/09/06/star-wars-empire-strikes-back-deleted-scene/

Personally, I really like the new OLD scene, but don't think it works if included into the film. Still, a lot of people seem to be complaining about it, personally I find it quite humourus. Still, as its a taster of the QUALITY of the deleted scenes, just wondering how easy it would be to clear the image up for Ady, IF a scene popped up that he liked and wanted to add it in??

I've always been keen to see the Wampa scene added (If it was good) especially if building a new Wampa.

I'm glad it was cut the way it was. "You could use a good kiss" ended Han and Leia's confrontation perfectly-I personally wouldn't dream of changing it. Plus, I've got to say that Harrison Ford's acting seems a little sub-par in this clip; Carrie Fisher's, on the other hand, is great. It was also nice to see a (slightly) more expansive view of the base's corridors. Overall, nice to see, but I'm glad it's a deleted scene. I doubt this would fit in with Ady's edit.

He's also stated on numerous occaissions that ESB is a near perfect film as it is...and that it would be the one requiring the least amount of additions. Where as deleted scenes could very well make an appearance in ROTJ:R, you can bet money that you won't see any in ESB:R

This guy here from a post of FB made some solid suggestions on some things i liked:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcyRBQBat9k

The glows behind the smokes

The smoothed motion on R2's arm

The enhanced blasters

Blinkless leia

And the flash that turns red instead of blue is some that i would like to considered as changes for the best.

I have not compare this video to ady's previous work to know what has changed since then.

Nice to see people takes the suggestions to a whole new level :)

FANTASTIC!!! Took me two times before i noticed the subtitles in the clip. Every one of those edits is spot on. Just a note: At about 2.03 Lando fires his gun, but theres a sound but no blast. Near the end of the clip as theyre boarding the falcon.

Also, not sure if its been mentioned before, but, at 0.22, When Lando says attention. Those 3 people in the corridor seem totally out of place to me. I dont know if its the shot or their outfits. It looks like a 1997 shot added in, not sure if it is, but is there anything that can be changed with that shot? looks tacked on.

It's a 97 shot, yes. The reflection draws a little too much attention to itself, however.

What's the Facebook page ESB:R? I can't find it...

Thanks a bunch! For whatever reason, searching Facebook yielded no results.

I do like the lights turning green when the door unlocks. Not a necessary change, but a cool one nonetheless. Nice video!

Just wanted to say that your new FOX logo and 'Falcon garbage escape' previews on Facebook looked tremendous adywan.

Just a pity some idiots put you off adding those ones to the Youtube collection as well.  Maybe you'd consider going down the 'comments disabled' route with them instead?  Either way, some great work there.

And jumping jeezus on a pogostick!...an actual 'Cloud City' model with lighting now?...WOWEE! :)

The scene is in the novelisation, pretty much verbatim.

Slightly off topic but I wonder if any of those deleted lines are even remotely salvageable for a ROTJ edit.

They may not be up to scratch for ESB but they are delivered with much more conviction than a lot of the ROTJ performances where Harrison and Carrie are short changed.

There are plenty of instances where we get dialogue from them but don't see their faces.

Unlike Lucas I'd only contemplate such a thing if it led to an improvement.
