You're right and there's no discernible edge to that photo... About how quickly he purported to do this, the "fake" theory looks more and more convincing. I will try to find the time tomorrow to take caps of SF/DJ's JSC and the V8, see if the extra picture information is actually there...
On a vaguely-related topic one experiment I've never tried is to use ColourLike() to give an HD target the same colour palette as the JSC.
I wonder how that will like. That would definitely a project I'd be interested. The JSC's color timing is really unique. In fact, I'm actually curious if it's more theatrically accurate than the GOUT; it does seem more vibrant on the whole, especially scenes in ESB and ROTJ. I still am honestly surprised that it was pretty much abandoned as a color source.
