Cheers Fate Foretold :-)
Aw geez, now I feel bad.
But, I still don't see the damage that was done. A couple of us simply signed up and partook in some active discussions. Was there a negative effect done by our actions?
It's all water under the bridge, as far as I am concerned. :]
No, I agree that it wasn't really necessary to delete the threads that were made, especially without discussing it first, but that was carried out by one of the members of the staff while I was at work, and I spoke with him about that afterward. It's understandable though that he felt the need to protect the new message board and wanted to take care of things in my absence. We just needed to come to a joint decision together.

I don't think we need to feel bad. I agree with you in that I don't see any damage was done. Some of them felt differently, but I think it's water under the bridge now.
EDIT: Ha-ha, same thought at same time, I see!
Ah, I understand.
no offence.
and none taken.

This.
I think you misunderstood the nature of the responses.
It helps if you are a bit familiar with the board you are posting on before you jump to any conclusions.
There was no flaming on here that I can detect just a few jokes (largely based on previous threads) and I notice a number of people from here have joined up on your forum and have been posting in a friendly way.
I have a great deal of respect for people who don't have English as their first language but can converse rather well in it.
It was one of my inspirations for a longish running joke character on here who speaks in badly translated (via Babelfish) Spanish (the British are notoriously bad at learning other languages and I'm ashamed to say I am no exception to this rule).
It's possible that some of the confusion could be well meant banter lost in translation.
I wish you luck with your forum.
I do recommend that if you read this one and feel you are being badly treated speak out and don't make assumptions.
You may find it's just a misunderstanding.
I would also recommend that you act in the same way on your own forum if you want to build a large and contented community there.
Bingo, I'm not sure where the French thing came from, but Fate Foretold is from the US.
When I tried to register it said all posts had to comply with French law.
The replies were written with a slightly askew syntax so I assumed the site to be French run.
Sorry.

That's what it was...I remembered something about France on the site but couldn't remember it exactly.
Frink one of these days you are going to end up as the middle section of a Human Centipad.
Well I'm very glad that we all can just move on now. :)
It seems like there were misunderstandings on both sides, so it all grew into a big ball of confusion.
That's really odd about it mentioning French law. It must be because our forum host is French. I knew they were not American (as some sentences inside the Administration Panel don't always use proper grammar), so that would make sense. It's odd that they have to include that though upon registration, especially since most people on an English-speaking site will not be familiar with French laws. o_O

This.
Make that two.
*Jedi bow*
One thing this whole ta'do must have given us is a new OT.COM meme, "Memebers" must be well hung in the hall of heroes.
ALL THESE MEMEBERS ARE YOURS EXCEPT EUROPE. ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE. IT'S FLYING TO VENUS.

Only if Forrest Gump gets to be the rear.
Wow...those bit 'n' pieces are still floating around? Kool.

If you want Nice, go to France
I'm glad this is coming to an amicable conclusion. Does Johnny Rancor get reinstated?
Excellent question. I've dropped a couple hints about allowing some silly roleplay outside of the serious roleplay threads but no response so far.
Hi Fate... I too don't remember any flaming. Lots of silliness, yes, but that's rather normal here. In general I've found most people here to be quite nice, quite tolerant, and I might add from personal experience...... quite patient. :)
"Close the blast doors!"
Puggo’s website | Rescuing Star Wars
Am I wrong, or is there no actual RP-ing going on at the site?
What seems like the normal fun and silliness to us looks flaming to them. What looks like a really great and serious RP board to them looks pretty silly to us.
We're from different internet-cultures.
Someone should play a character that, whenever it tries to do something, whatever action it's attempting to perform is edited and changed by "The Maker".
They have this weird sense of deja vu, but with a few differences and they don't know why. And their voice changes drastically randomly.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.
END OF LINE

I was wondering about that myself. I've never been into the whole role-playing, cos-play thing (takes the magic away for me), but if I'm understanding the basic idea - aren't you supposed to log on as a character from the world within a film and speak as though it were all real? I'm not seeing that on her site.
Not that it matters, you could still have interesting film conversations. Maybe they would have liked it here if things hadn't gotten off to a weird start.
I joined.
