OT.com memes (definition and origin)

Go, Frink, Go!

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

Holy carp!

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish memes.

I imagine the origin of that was a common typo, the earliest instance I can find is this one.

It is breaking out of it's initial breeding zone (one of us?).

And then global.

Example One.

Example Two.

Reading this thread will soon be a prerequisite to posting off-topic.

For the longest time I was wondering what the hell these "collars" were and why everyone wanted them fixed...

I just hope the colars are fixed.

But seriously, wouldn't it make sense to have the first post be by Frink so we could keep it updated? Or do you want to have that responsibility xhonz?

No one is going to believe this, but I don't have time to work on an OT.com meme database.

And vfp was doing this very thing (and then some) before he disappeared.

Hilarious dude that mysteriously disappeared in the middle of his live ot.com off-topic talk show (seriously) about a year ago.

Here's the link to his thread I mentioned earlier:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/The-Unofficial-but-Totally-Awesome-OriginalTrilogycom-Interactive-Holocron-Beta-version/post/405255/#TopicPost405255

I should probably make a section for him in the Classic LOL list one of these days.

I didn't remember the interactive holocron had so much in it.  I remembered (incorrectly, it would seem) that is was mostly a glossary of the people.

But vfp isn't here to keep it updated, so I think that falls to Frink.  005- you're right, I should have let Frink have the first post.  Maybe I'll create a new thread (after receiving permission in the New "New Thread" Thread, of course) suggesting that he create a new thread himself.

It started out as just a glossary of people and then grew from there.  Check out the thread title in the early posts.

I support everything in this post, except for the part where it's my job or I make the thread.

I was recently watching this South Park episode:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Queer-O

when suddenly something caught my eye

....Frink wuz here?

... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"
