That's why I typically put the link when i'm quoting something and when finding search results, give the search engine results link. Click, You'll see what I did, searched only through this website, then with cameron's name and I remembered that the quote was discussed in a blu-ray thread, that made it surface on the first page of results. The more terms you can give, often it helps make the info surface quicker.

Not finding a quote, (if you give more details might find it) have a feeling this was from speculation that the source of the blu-ray wouldn't be a new transfer but a continuation of the 2004s which were from the SE enhancements which were done at 1080. zombie84 explained here:

Fixing editing and FX mistakes: OK if done with director's approval.
Replacing characters, adding new characters, then repressing the existence of the originals: Bad.

That's the first I've heard of that, thanks for providing the info.
You would think with seamless branching you could have the shot of Bishop in the hole in the theatrical cut and the fix in the director's cut and everyone wins.
Same could be said for the gold room (which is not so gold now) in Alien.
But eh, I don't even own Aliens only Alien. Not because I hate the sequel or what Cameron did to it but I wouldn't watch it that much to justify the purchase. Fun movie though. Four out of five balls.

The gold room was coloured like that for the 2001 DC. It has now been thankfully returned to its original grading (although I will admit, I like the more exotic gold version from the original DC).
Yes, the 2003 Director's Cut was were Ridley revised the colortiming, including the golden hue in the landing gear room.
