Harmy, have you gotten to the destruction of Alderaan yet?

I'm not sure if you know, but the original bluescreen footage of the explosion appears in the Empire of Dreams.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Yeah, I already went through the EoD and found nothing I could use, most of the footage either sucks even worse than the GOUT or is incomplete :-(

Also, I posted a destruction of Alderaan video ages ago, you can see it here :-)

Whoa.  That hangar bay shot is seriously impressive.

Did anyone send you a greenscreen rendition of msycamore's subtitles yet?  If not, I'll see if I can do that myself.

Author
Time

No, no-one yet. That would be f*cking awesome if you could do that :-)

LOVE the new hanger bay and the crawl. Keep up the great work Harmy. I mentioned your edits on the amazon blu-ray trilogy listing. Don't know if its legal but I'll be rooting for you!

Yeah, I wouldn't do that. Can you please remove that comment? I don't want any trouble and trying to tell people not to buy the Blu-Rays and download my version instead on AMAZON is definitely asking for trouble.

The reconstruction of the Falcon in the Death Star hangar is awesome! (I couldn't see it at the time of my last post.) Much better than your first try. Are you able to compensate for the slight camera wobble in that shot?

Also, have you made any further tweaks to the shot of the Falcon flying under Yavin? That's always been one of my favorite shots - I remember being blown away by it as a kid in the theater. I noticed some white "sparklies" on the planet - I don't know if it's possible to do some kind of dirt-removal processing on that.

Thanks!

I posted a video with several shots somewhere like two or three pages back and that shot was a part of it and I'm afraid I can't do much more about it.

Harmy, you doing a great job on these shots.  Are you doing the shadows under the landspeeder?

What about the sky  Sky behind 3p0 when he says "I am not going that way."?

Thanks for all your hard work.

looking for HDTV of the  Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.  Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy

George's vision has turned so many regular people on here into some of the most talented people. The tenacity that pours through this site is amazing.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I did see that video. I understand you're pretty much limited to the GOUT for that shot, since it's a moving image. Thanks.

Yes and yes :-)

@Eric:

It's not just the GOUT mind you, just get out your GOUT DVD and compare the shots!!!

Hey Harmy, the picture looks amazing. You're doing nerds everywhere a great service.

My one worry is about the PAL audio speed-up. Does that come out in the final version, and if so, how easy is it for someone of my technical ineptitude to fiddle with it?

Author
Time

No, all my projects (with the exception of the ROTJ PAL DVD) are 23.976fps, so there is no PAL speedup.

New video. I was originally just going to use DJ's Blu (GOUT sourced) for these two shots but I didn't like the blinking starfield, which was worsened by the increased contrast, so I decided to try and quickly do something about it... and well, I ended up staying up all night working on it, but I think it was worth it. Please check it out and comment :-)

Harmy, that's unbelievable what you did... That shot looks so amazing! For this moment I'm even more impatient than I have been all the time before... It really looks like Lucasfilm had restored the original shot... Thank you so much!

You are amazing Harmy.  This will be the version of Star Wars people remember.

"I will laugh my ass off a hundred years from now when the only version of STARWARS people remember are harmys despecialized editions.  They will project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality."
