I'm working with .avi.  I'm guessing there's a way for one of us to convert it, I'll figure it out if you can't.

Here's another attempt at "Don't be a coward."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_x098sOEfw

I tried crossfading a bit (although I can't do it much because I start catching other words) and I also tried to extend the end of "coward" a bit to catch the hard "d."  I can't push the word any farther because the word is actually "cowards" and I need to cut off the "s."

But...that got me thinking of another approach:

The issue here is that Ric shouldn't be laughing - he's a Naboo too.  I thought of having Obi laugh instead (that's whose laugh it actually is), but I wanted to get a little of the Panaka/Ric rivalry in-joke into the edit at least a little.

Thoughts?

Frink, Obi Wan's musicless "Noooooooo" is on the soundboards (and in the wav conversion of it I uploaded) in case you wanted to avoid the constant repeat of music. For the parts where it changes views to outdoors it could be combined with stock sounds like birds chirping.

Carp, why do I keep forgetting about those sounds?  Thanks. :-)

They don't really work. Sorry.

Why not just have Qui-gon say something like 'You *BLEEP*-ing Coward.' Adding a Bleep might help with the words.

Having just rewatched the television version of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy the idea of re-dubbing Seethroughpio with Stephen Moore's radio/television voice of Marvin is very attractive (plenty of footage to chose appropriate dialogue from) it might even be fun to have the Fed's protocol droid be Alan Rickman's Marvin from the rubbish film version.

On a related note the destroyer droids do look rather Dalekish and seeing as they don't talk in the film giving them Dalek voices would be relatively easy and may work as a joke.

I like the first one more than the second... also, Marvin overdubs would be great

A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em

I like the second one more than the first - marvin the paranoid android would sound cool but i think Frink has already said he just wants to stick with whats available in TPM

You can never go home again, but i guess you can shop there.

Nice ideas, Bingowings. Having the destroyers go "Exterminate" after they unroll and their shields go up would be hilarious!

I'm going to use this for Sam Jackson, I don't want to repeat it with another character.

Damn fine idea on Marvin, sir, and for once I actually own a source you've suggested ;-)

I've already picked out another source for the Fed's protocol droid, I'll reveal it once I've put it in the edit.

No Dr. Who for me, sorry.

Are you guys talking about the first and second, or third and fourth?  The third option was the one where he just says "coward."

Also, I want to stick with the SW universe for much of the edit, but if a good non-SW idea comes along I'll gladly use it (see my response to Bingo above).

I'd drop the first slo-mo "noooo" altogether and just go with that latest version Frink.  The cricket's were especially a nice touch :)

As for the Qui-Gon line, I tried my hand at tinkering with it.  I'm having trouble capturing audio at the moment, but you can at least get an idea of how well I was able to blend the "Don't be a--" portion:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X38LROA0

On that note, have you thought about just using something off the soundboards, such as "Are you brainless?", or better yet have Qui-Gon respond with "You hear something?"  Then have an awkward silence, followed by Panaka repeating his line, only to have Qui-Gon cut him off, saying, "You hear something?" again.

Or, if you could find a line of Panaka saying something like "really?" or "yes?", you could have this exchange taken from soundboard clips:

Qui-Gon: I forsee that you will become a great Jedi knight.

Panaka: Really?

Qui-Gon: Not likely.

Slo-mo-no stays, sorry.

...

"Are you brainless?" sounded good at first, but then I realized it doesn't really fit.  I'm probably going with either version 3 or 4 above.

How about Qui-gon just says 'Shhhh!!!' to Panaka. Have Panaka try to speak but qui keeps shushing him, interupting. Then Ric laughs.
