Damn you, most of that makes sense and I'm almost done with it ;-)
I'm keeping the failed jump, but I am hoping to smooth it out a bit.

I agree with Bingowings that the falling gag currently feels a little too repetitive. I think, though, that if edited differently it might work better. What about this order:
- Have Obi-Wan's first fall (and immediate recovery) come from being kicked by Maul (0:55 - 1:02)
- Then, have Obi-Wan's second fall come from being force pushed (@ 1:05), followed again by an immediate recovery (reuse footage from 0:57 - 1:02),
- Then, use the continually falling sequence (0:08 - 1:50), followed by him overshooting the catwalk, and the subsequent jump back up (flip shot).
In that order, not only does it build comedic effect (IMO), but it also avoids the continuity error of seeing Obi-Wan running to rejoin the fight (the catwalk clearly leads to the force field doors, but then we see him back fighting beside the energy pillar things).
I'd also leave out the failed jump segment (@ 1:15), as it's not clear what's happening, and it leads to the longer running time.
