"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.
Not enthused.
LOOK WHO'S TARKIN!!!!
*eye roll*
I've been saying Tarkin should show up for a while now. (Why should Wulf Yalaren be the only future Imperial lackey we see?) And I doubt anybody is clamoring for more episodes about Baron Papanoida and his family. ;)
This is the only guy besides the Emperor to order Vader around, and it will be interesting to see how he gets to that position of power. And find out if he and Anakin have any sort of a working relationship before ROTS.
If none of the other characters comment on the "foul stench", I will be very surprised!
Where were you in '77?
I'm interested. This a character they could greatly explore in the series.
I think it's about time. I always knew they'd eventually get around to him given his appearance at the end of ROTS. He'll make the third OT officer to appear in the Clone Wars. They had Ozzel appear as a major in one of the comics.
Since I've never watched the series, all I can say is ... meh.

But every character from the OT that's been 'explored' has become lamer because of it.

Is it your understanding that Tarkin actually has an odd smell?

Lame? Unnecessary, maybe. But not lame.
I always had the impression that Tarkin had some familiarity with Obi-Wan. since in ANH he's like "Obi-Wan?! surely he must be dead by now"
So far in this season we've had Greedo, Tarkin and Sy Snootles from the OT, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul from the PT, have they run out of ideas??
How long til we get a three episode arc featuring Stupid Kid Han Solo?

I was gonna say...I don't think B.O. is one of Tarkin's character traits. That was just Leia trying to take him down a few pegs.
My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

If we're including the prequels then we should throw Boba Fett onto that list.
^^^ Well duh on my part. Also Vader.
But then again I typed before thinking, in hindsight I guess the discussion was about character history explored in the series (which I've not seen) not the prequels. And I don't think Chewbacca has been in the series and obviously Vader hasn't.

pretty likely considering young orphan boy Solo living with the wookies on Kashyyyk was in the script for ROTS. Lucas may want to rectify that mistake.
^ If I see that I may lose the will to live.

I fail to see how does one thing leads to the other...

In one old Carrie Fisher interview she discussed her "motivation" for delivering that famous line. In her mind, Tarkin did have a smell. ;)
And if he really did smell, who's going to risk summary execution by telling him?
