^and a million David Van Day singles.

GB there are better reasons to wish Ady's family good health and good fortune than an admitted fine series of editing projects.

Sure they take a long time but these are Adywan projects not McDonald's projects.

What frustrates me about all this is how long it is taking. I wish there was a way to speed up time and make Adywan's family stop having problems, and for Adywan not to need food or sleep so he can work on this 24/7. Oh and not have any computer problems. And I wish he had a computer that could operate at a million frames per second!

If I donate your money back to you, will you go away?

What do you expect?  The kind of quality work that adywan is doing on the original trilogy, and the sheer amount of it that is being done...takes time.

And as far as your recent comments on the ESB:R thread...as he previously stated, patience is needed for him to get around to replying to certain PM's too, considering everything that's going on in his life at present.  I'm amazed that he finds the time to actually take the time to reply to any PM's in the first place, considering the demands on his time these days.  I've no doubt that he gets heaps of them.

On topic, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the only element Ady still has from ANHR that he can use for ARSE is the arm on the floor of the cantina.

What frustrates me about all this is I still don't have a million dollars or a pony....and I have been wishing it would happens for DAYS now! Damn It!

Personally I worry about the health and sanity of someone who stares at the same film footage day after day for years and still manages to keep a smile and a great outlook and attitude about everything. Adywan is our rock. :) TY buddy.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

I see what you did there.

Hi Adywan.  I was wondering if you are going to do a purist version in HD, like the one you had before.  I'm actually half-half.  I loved everything you did in revisited except for the change of music in the Obi-Wan/Vader duel scene.  At one point the music changed a little too abruptly into a different score when Luke goes "nooo" at the end of that scene.  The vibe of the original duel (without the Revenge of the Sith music) had more of a mystical ambience, which is what I loved.  That scene is classic movie magic, and I thought it had more effect the way it was.  Like I said, I thought everything else you did was incredible (far better than what George Lucas had done).  It was just one step from being perfect.  So maybe you could consider releasing a version without the music change as well as the normal revisited (or maybe just release the new hd revisited without the Revenge of the Sith music).  It would be the perfect Star Wars, and i would be eternally grateful.

PS: I love what did with the hut scene.  It makes a lot more sense and flows way better.

To be fair Lucas made the original film but in terms of SE decisions I agree with you there hgfed.

I'm not sold either way at this point. I need to watch the scene in PURIST to really get a feel for it without the music. In the end, it's up to Ady.

Out of curiosity, Adywan and pardon me if you have already said this. Will you use the same type of color correction used for your AVCHD and the Revisited edit? What will be the source: your AVCHD or the Star Wars Blu-Ray set coming out later this year?

I know you said you are not accepting any suggestions for the revamp edit, but I want to know your guy's opinions of these 3 ANH duel re-edits.

This one I like the best. I like how it mixes the "Battle of Heros" at the beginning with the classic ANH theme at the end, this one feels the most fitting in ANH IMO.

I really like this one. I feel like the music fits it very well, which actually surprises me because I was always one of those people who thought that this particular scene sounded best left alone. Whoever cut this together did a nice job.

Meh, sans music is still the way I likes it......

Since you are the almighty knitpicker and such a bad arse at spewing out negative comments on whats wrong with the movie, why don't you try to show us how things can be better by doing it yer self eh?!

Remember this is still a "fan edit" and Adywan learned how to do it all as he went along, I have to be honest and say I am rather impressed at how much he learned, he editet the movie with such grace that many that have found it ( me amongst them ) now use as a 1st choice instead when is comes to the Lucas or Adywan dvd.

Sure you might sit up there on your high and might chair and get all the "Aohs" and "Aahs" from your little click of followers when you point out what you deem wrong or flawd, sure you hand out all these shiny and too perfect and somewhat odd placed ( story wise ) pictures that not always seem to fit in with Adywans vision for the movie(s). perhaos you should try to put your pictures into motion and then try to show us how good things can be!?

But...who then will "Ooh" and "Aah" ? At times it can almost seam like you are envious at the attention Adywan is getting from this edit, so you have to grab some of this fame for your self, you know if you have such a negative feel about this project you can try to make your own edit and flog that on the web to get groupies.

Get a band together and start your own project, see how that feels when the work start to mount up, how much it costs of time and money and how it feels when you have several annoying star wars fanboys yapping at your every move... I bet it starts to get bloody annoying and very old..very fast.

Adywan has surrounded himself with ppl he trusts and he gets good and honest advise back from them, he posts info and updates on the web out of generosity and I think its awesome. Then the least one could do is to back him up on a positive note instead of bragging how about your own work and knitpick a 1 second frame to death...

You ain't supposed to go through the film frame by frame and just try as hard as you can to find flaws, thats just oddly wrong. o.0

Back off.

Im not trying to undermine ady's work or trying to be negative with his work. Otherwise i wouldnt bother trying to help/contribute of how he can make the edit better.

Its a fanedit yes and im judging it by its final result. I didnt spot these things via frame by frame ( i might got an expert eye because i work with frame frame) and my points were only for making things better.

I dont care if my "shinny, "over sharped" images are not following ady's "vision". Sure he inspired me a lot about his artistic decisions and how i can navigate through movies and edits so yes i can give credit to him but i stand alone.

Sure i can put my input on whatever shot i spot or whatever a problematic area or frame or pixel i chose to find and ady has the right to ignore it to take it or leave it. And i find more "awesome" making a shot more "perfect" with contributing on it rather have some "wows" and "aaahs" that indeed boosts ady's confidence and will, but will not fix some errors that might exist and will be still there, that id like to address them or fix them.

Ady might knew that publicity might get him trouble and whatever fanboyism can you imagine. He is still on the move so he can take it i assume.

Finally.. ady goes through the film frame by frame... why not i can do that when the editing/fx process is frame by frame? Sell the idea of a flawless motion requires frame frame spotting. I choose to see it both ways revealing movie and ady's mistakes when something is in your face.

@Bingo yes thats the gray part i was talking about. :)

^It's considered good form to include the name of the person who you are quoting, especially when the quote is not on the same page.

Regardless of who it was, I agree with quite a bit of it.

Ady, is there a benefit to going 720 rather than 1080?

I think he gave an indication of why on the previous page Asteroid-Man.

Assuming you'll be relasing this on BD as well as AVCHD, how about an alternative soundtrack, where everything would be your soundmix except without the added music? It could be 2.0 for the AVCHD and 5.1 for BD.

I concur... I like how it is more subtle but what music is there adds emotional beats to the fight and remains fairly silent when the gang shows up in the corridor opposite the Falcon.  Not sure about the initial drum beats, but I do like how the music pauses/fits for the dialogue.  I will say he needs to follow through to the end of the scene with Luke and Co. getting on the Falcon after Ben's death.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but will the new ANH: revisited just be a 720p version with the same changes as before or will new changes be made also?

A 720p HD version will be coming out around 2016 after ROTJ:R is finished.

There will be some differences because i can't recreate it 100% faithfully but it will be as close as possible. But i won't be taking any suggestions for changes/ fixes for the HD version
