If you guys have been following the GOUT Image stabilization thread you would know that ALL video is going to be re rendered and encoded, I have already started doing this, better to catch it now then when it is in your hands.

Well, we've waited, what? Ten years?  Twelve?  We can wait a little longer.  Man your ships and may the force be with you.

Thanks for all your hard work d_j.  Take all the time you need... I'm sure the finished product will be well worth the wait.

And thanks too, of course, to g_force, not least of all for his input in the GOUT image stabilization thread regarding these newly-discovered artifacts.

Ditto.  No need to rush the discs just to get them out there at risk of having video and audio problems.  If I wanted that, I'd get the latest LFL release.

ALL V3 video has been re rendered and encoded, now I am back where I was, which is working on the audio for ESB and ROTJ.

Nice! That was fast! I realize that this may be the most annoying question in the world, but do you have any idea when this might be finished? I'm not trying to sound impatient, I'll wait as long as it takes with a smile on my face. Just wondering if maybe there was a visible light at the end of the tunnel.

How are the films coming along dark_jedi?  I've been going crazy these past two weeks with no updates :)

This is why I wanted to get these done before the Holidays, I knew that the Holidays were going to be very hectic, but I actually got back to work on the audio yesterday, then I am off to author them up, and then the fun part, burn testing and watching them AGAIN LOL, but rest assured that these WILL get finished, this set will not be like the X9, X0, Aleks Super Duper Laserdisc project, and a lot of others here, I am about 90% finished now anyways, and even ALL the video has been re-rendered and encoded already, but at least The ESB Imperial Edition is already done, and the '97 SE Trilogy V2's are finished along with the V3 MBE set, so most of the sets that are going to be sent out are getting close to shipping, just NEED to finish up this damn audio, it was very fun at the start but now it is very tedious and boring.

I hope that cleared some up for you, I know people want to know when it will be shared, but as I said already, ALL these DVD's will go to the people that donated some Verbatim DL blanks first, then be shared after they watch them all and see if they find anything.

Patience is a virtue, and I got plenty. Besides, you're absolutely right.

Is it too late to donate more Verbatim DL blanks to the cause?

What still remains to be done with the audio?  Did you decide to make ESB and RotJ 5.1 tracks without the music edits, or are you still synching the theatrical stereo mixes?

If you're really dead set against having those music edits I can talk to Satanika and ask him to help out with that like before . . .

No I didn't make the changes, I would need the lossless files to do it and I am actually starting to get really bored of the audio work, and here is what is left on the audio, I am finishing up the SW 1985 Home Video Stereo Remix from the JSC LD, and then I have to still sync these LD's,
ESB 1980 Theatrical Stereo   *catalog # 1425-84 - CBS/Fox, pan & scan, "Stereo Standard Play."*
ROTJ 1983 Theatrical Stereo   *catalog # 1478-80 - CBS/Fox, pan & scan, "Stereo Extended Play."*

Once all that is done, then I can FINALLY put these damn DVD's to bed, and believe me, I can't wait.

But to answer your question, if you could, and have time, that would be nice if you could do those edits, but if not, that is OK.

Hi dj, I'm just posting another vote of interest for an x264 version of these releases, if you have time to do them? Thanks.

OK, I need to post this here and get some feedback form you guys, I don't know if you have been following this discussion here,

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/GOUT-Automated-Theatrical-Colouring-and-a-Reference-Guide/topic/12289/

but it seems that the script as is looks slightly dull, the colors are just a little flat, I never really noticed before because I did no comparing, well now with a little boost in saturation the colors really crisp up quit a bit, head over to that thread and you will see some samples, I am actually working on a few more tweaks as I type this, so what I want to know is this, I am good with either way, but do you guys want a more crisp colored V3 or just leave it as is? because I do NOT want to do a V4, and please don't get me wrong, this script is AWESOME, but just look at the colors and you will see what we are talking about, it seems we might be able to make it look just a little bit better with minor tweaking.

My vote would be for a more theatrically accurate crisp coloured, V3 please. :)

Well, I would definitely be for more saturated colours, but just not like the ones in that topic - they look a little too saturated. But yeah, a little tweak for colours would be cool for the V3 set. 8)

Also, don't make more work for yourself d_j if you really feel like you've had enough working on them.

Actually video work is fun, once I have set what I want I just let my PC take over, but if I do not find something that really makes a huge difference I may just leave it alone, right now I have not found a good enough setting to justify doing the whole video set over again, and in my opinion, we will never get this to look exactly theatrical, because for 1, we don't have anything concrete to compare to, so to me we are all still speculating to some point.

D_J, I honestly say don't sweat it. You and g_force have done plenty for the community as-is; people can adjust their TVs and such as desired on their own. If you don't think you can find the right setting, don't bother stressing yourself about it.

Agreed.  If you adjust anything, please keep skin tones accurate.  I'd happily sacrifice lack of color details in the environment in order to keep people looking like people.
