Anyone have any cheat codes for Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga?  Particularly one that means that I can go play the classic movies without having to do the prequels?  Seriously.

On the Xbox you just have to complete the first level of Ep. 1 to unlock all movies. Dunno if it's different on the Ps3, but give it a try.

This image made me want to go and triple post an image-only post outside of off-topic just so I could be banned and never have to come back here.

Anyone playing Black Ops?

I borrowed it from a friend and I'm trying to make my way through it but I have to say it looks like a dogs breakfast and doesn't play much better. How do these games get so much praise?

At first I liked the cutscene style but it gets annoying fast when they come mere minutes apart.

oh, it's also buggy as hell - I couldn't even complete the first mission without getting a patch.

I'm also playing Super Meat Boy [on xbla] and contrary to Black Ops it's an incredibly fun game. Simple controls / addictive gameplay / retro flavour.

I can't say enough good things about SMB - the ONLY good thing I can say about Black Ops is hat it didn't cost me anything.

005, et al.

I caught the elusive C3PX online last night and we enjoyed a legendary + tilt skull level of Halo Reach (weekly challenge AND an achievement!  w00t!).  I suggested we should get the gang back together for L4D2 again sometime soon.  He seemed up for it.

Are you and Mrs. 005 and anyone else on the forum interested in another OT.com play session?

Over Christmas I attended a birthday party at a bizarre little themed hotel in Brighton.

They were short staffed and got this lady in to act as a barmaid who had never done it before and was helping herself quite liberally to the stock.

I'm not much of a heavy drinker these days and I tend to purchase a token drink which I swirl around the glass as long as I can to fit in with the crowd but as the lady got more and more bladdered the measures got bigger and bigger as a result everyone (including myself) got incredibly drunk.

I mention this on this thread because they had a room with a Playstation 3 fitted out with SingStar Next Gen.

Not since my PSone days playing Bishi Bashi Special on gin and IT have I had so much fun being five sheets to the wind playing a computer game.

This was further enhanced by having one of the microphones (the red one) either low on batteries or buggered up in some other fashion thus creating a handicap to be overcome.

Utterly wrecked my vocal cords (not to mention the songs) trying to keep up with the range shifts on Ultravox's Vienna and the la-la-las on Suede's The Beautiful Ones.

Crazy Taxi was also a good 'drunk as a skunk' game and was one of the few games that ever got an airing on my Dreamcast.

oooohh I never tried to sing Vienna while spiffed. must be real hard! I did once sing almost the entire volume 1 of Queen's greatest hits while under the influence of half a bottle of rum.

why don't we have a thread called "drunk experiences"? oh, well, I figure I'll just make one next time I'm intoxicated.

on the other hand, I don't enjoy playing video games while drunk, it takes away the fun. the first challenge becomes trying to get a hold of the controller!

wow, imagine playing kinect while drunk!!

xhonzi's gamer score makes me sick. especially against my piddly 1500.

I think it's time to set up a Halo Reach OT party. any takers?

I could be persuaded...

I hate you guys [005 et al] for being in agreeable time zones.

So I finally got my hands on the infamous Alpha leak of Doom 3 from back in [circa] '02 - I figure it's been long enough and i've purchased Doom 3 at least twice now [in different formats].

It certainly is interesting, A possibly different [more action focused] direction than the game we ended up with.

It has a pretty cool feel to it and it does feel different to the full game - There isn't really much to play through and certain enemies like zombies don't really do much - although they do get up again and continue pursuing you after you plug them full of bullets.

One thing that was interesting / different is that the enemies speak actual [gutteral] english, commando zombies say things like "I smell fear".

Apparently this is from when Trent Reznor was still on the project and the game structure seems to back that up - there are audio folders labelled as 'nin' and such. I actually prefer some of the sounds here as some stuff in the full game gets annoying when you hear it over and over. Weapons sound more 'meaty' for example.

All in all, an interesting play-through and I personally would have preferred a game in this style with the polish of the final game, rather than the attempted scare-fest we did get.

What time zone do you live in? I live in GMT -5, however I work shift work for PD here (i.e. weird hours) so chances are good we can set some time.  and my weekends are Monday/Tuesday so I can also play regular hours too on those days...

I had no clue about the Doom3 alpha! I'm going to have to check that out... Sounds way more interesting than the released game.

Never was much discussion of Fallout: New Vegas here.

As anyone who frequented this thread would know, C3PX was pretty excited about FO:NV.

Seems like just about every review I read mentioned Fallout: New Vegas as being better than Fallout 3. Seems most old school FO fans tend to be of the view that Fallout: New Vegas was finally a worthy continuation of the franchise while Fallout 3 was an absolute slap in the face.

Fallout 3 was my first venture into the Fallout universe, and I absolutely loved it from start to finish and through each and every DLC... I have every achievement for it and have wasted an unfortunate portion of my life playing it, and I can still sit down and wander the wasteland and find some small settlement that I have never stumbled across before with an interesting story to tell.

Playing Fallout 3 was a bit like reading a volume of short stories, or watching a serialized television show with unconnected stories.

Seems like I kept hearing how much more vast and deep the FO:NV world was, which left me to anticipate great things. Though now that it is said and done and I have beaten the games storyline and most of the side missions I have been able to stumble across, it all feels very small.

I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people claim it to be a vast improvement over FO3. Is it just because of the whole multiple factions thing? I've played all four factions, and find it kind of dull how closely all four follow each other. Not much variance, they pretty much all ask you to do the exact same things.

Oh well, end verdict for me, FO:NV was fun, but no where near the fun or size of FO3.

As for the Dead Money expansion, not sure if it is worth ten bucks, but I really enjoyed it.

Holy Crap!  It's a C3PX/CP3S/FallOutBoy post!

I haven't played any of the FallOuts yet.  I have 2, I've been meaning to get 3 and New Vegas assuming I liked 3.

But I did finish BioShock 2 Protector Trials and am working on Minerva's Den, which I'm really digging.

Yay, you got BS2 back, Xhonzi. How were the protector trials? Hungry for new BS2 content, but I am not sure if protector trials would do it for me or not... what I'd give for another episode along the lines of Minerva's Den! Maybe something taking place right before the fall of Rapture...

Protector Trials are cool because they force you to play with specific weapon/plasmid combos.  I don't know about you, but once I found weapons/plasmids that I liked, I never really strayed too far from them.

There's supposed to be a 2k sale starting tomorrow, and BS2 is supposed to have some content on sale... so maybe the Protector Trials will be on sale.  I think I got them for 200 pts last time they were on sale.  For that you can't go wrong.  But they are no Minerva's Den.  :(
