All told, I probably laughed most at the Anakin strike buzzer in the Clones review, but this new review was still pretty good. The section about the endless scenes of people walking unnaturally slow while talking/or sitting and talking is the whole thing in a nutshell to me. (well, that and the old standby of not giving a shit emotionally about any of these characters or this clone vs. robot war)

RLM's reviews and humor are both hit and miss with me, but his talk about editing and how shitty dialogue scenes are were EXTREMELY on the money. Kudos.

Exactly!  This was definitely one of the strengths of the review.

I enjoyed RLM's latest offering immensely.

haha

some good impressions of Palpatine and Grievous in there.

I actually liked R2D2's introduction in TPM and his appearance before the Queen. Reminded me of a 1940s high seas film-Captain Blood or something. Might be the only thing I liked in it.

Would have been more logical if C3PO served on the same ship.

The protocol droid built on Tattooine was just very bad writing.

Like saying the movies were for kids but having political intrigue and trade problems in it.. Yeah-kids love that stuff.

Red Letter Media guy gets my respect for risking(or rather achieving) mental damage by analyzing the prequels.

I think his storytelling points can be used on many recent films-wish he would savage District 9, most overrated production of recent years. So poorly thought out-I must track down the version that apparently deserved a best adapted screenplay nomination over so many sf films in the past that never got one.

The version I saw was some kind of ultra cheap Alien Nation-Enemy Mine retread with a lot of  shaky cam and an uncertain blend of seriousness and comedy.

It was nowhere in the league of Robocop/2001/Star Wars as some people described it. It may be better than the Prequels but I dont plan to watch it again to do a comparison.

Guys, do you know whether the on-line vids at redlettermedia.com are the best quality that exists of these reviews? I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested but I'm gonna make a DVD containing all 3 reviews with menus and stuff for myself, so it would be nice to have them in the best possible quality for that.

I was gonna do the same thing. I have no experience making menus though, so if you're gonna do it, I'll just grab yours when your done. Lazy ray is lazy.

And I'm not 100% sure, but I'd guess that the versions up on the RLM site are the best available.

Lazy Ray, is Lazy..

Fixed that for you. Anyway, I would agree in thinking that the blip versions are the highest quality available.

I think it was about the comma not the capital letter.

Ohhh.. inattentive ray, was inattentive.

btw, this is still wrong.  Correct format is:

Inattentive ray, was Inattentive.

(First and last words are always capitalized)

Anybody know if he has plans to do more Star Wars reviews? The story line with the kidnapped woman is unresolved so I would guess yes? I'd like to see him do the OT as well. Would be interesting to hear him review movies he likes.

Just bringing this back up before it gets lost. Any thoughts?

I don't think he will, because he has talked about them so much in the prequel reviews, but you never know.  Plinkett likes Star Trek (2009) though, so if you haven't seen that review, give it a go. :-)

I think the Plinkett/woman storyline is just his running gag, which now needs a new place to hang out.  I don't get a sense he's willing to give it up for closures sake, and it didn't show up as much in the RotS review.  I like the storyline, and each new segment has been getting higher and higher quality so maybe this is his was to break into a major Motion Plinkett Picture.  A full picture of Plinkett reviewing horror flicks as he's stalked by the lady, could be a Blair Witch type success, except 4-6 hours long, please, make it gruelling and exhaustive.

The Star Wars thing seems to have run it's course for the time being, like the Star Trek reviews he's tackled the ones which fit the ridicule.  He did drop in likes in this review, so the angle of a completely positive review could happen, but highly unlikely.  Could take an under appreciate movie and show how it's supperior to a hollywood remake, that could be where the positive review might show up.  Mr. Bean the tv show verse the movie might be good fodder.  But don't put it past him to do a gag Holiday Special review of Plinkett sleeping through it or praising Art Carney for a successful days work/pay check.

Just hope he gets the chance to work, if he wants, in other areas.  The career seems like the South Park guys, a few underground successes which could amount to fantastic creations if someone would give him the chance.  The Plinkett movie review thing could work great on Showtime, HBO or the Sci-Fi channel late nights, no defined schedule just when it seems appropriate.  But he's made better career choices then I could guess at, so like what he's up to and will continue to support.

I watched his Star Trek Generations and Nemesis reviews in bed this morning. Man, he hates that shit almost as much as the PT.

It is funny tho!!

I've considered watching the Star Trek review, but I haven't seen the film and I have zero interest in it. I've watched the first couple Trek films and hated them and I've seen some episodes of the various TV series over the years and hated all of that too. It's probably best if I just stay away from the Trek.

Yeah; I know!  I actually like Generations, even though I agree with many of his criticisms of it.  I don't like any of the other TNG movies though.  I love the fact that he hates First Contact even though most people rave about it.

If that's true, you're probably right to stay away from it.  The reviews of Baby's Day Out and Avatar are good.

The new film is actually pretty good. Well I liked it, and it has pretty much nothing to do with any other type of Trek, apart from the characters etc.

But, it's just a good solid Sci fi adventure!

Glad you liked the new Star Trek film.  I didn't, but I agree with Plinkett's assessment of why it was successful/popular.

I really liked the new Star Trek. When I saw it in the cinema, I thought: Wow, this film was more STAR WARS than any of the STAR WARS prequels!!!
