I think i'm going to leave it the way it is. I think you would see a slight edge of the steps but it's so dark in that area it wouldn't really show up anyway.

The thought had crossed my mind.

And the pylon is an actual set piece and is just a slight different design. Nothing to fix there. The floor in both chambers would be flat and it would indeed be a figure 8.

Great :)

So, uhm...  Kenkraly already left? As in, not coming back? Why's that?
Must've missed that post...

Sorry for the lousy sketch! ;)

Ok...So where's the view screen Vader uses to choke Ozzle?..Where's the door the officers come through?

I don't get it?  This never made any sense to me (the whole scene thing, not the diagram above :)

The part where Vader chockes Ozzle, as you can see from my screens, is in an entirely different area altogether.
EDIT: What's up with Vader's shining knight armor on his right leg?

It's all part of the same spaceship :p
I'm pretty sure that after Vader chocked Ozzle, and addressed Veers and Piett, that he took that right turn, and simply entered another corridor, which led to his meditation chamber and holopad.

RadiOn: precisely, Vader's voice is superbly dubbed in Spanish by a deep-voiced Spanish actor called Constantino Romero (who also regularly dubs Schwarzenneger).

I'm working on an example to let you see how they used the same set to make two rooms (meditation and hologram)... stay tuned! ;)

EDIT: I found a custom diorama here that may help...

Why does he communicate with Ozzle via a monitor, but with his ground troops and the Emperor via hologram? It is inconsistent. Do you plan to address this Ady?

Noblesse obligue, even if I can't tell the name of the voice actor, the argentinian dubbing, which I guess is the same for the whole latinamerican area is also great. However, since we don't have a strong dubbing industry here (like Mexico, or Spain) to protect, it's most common to watch the movies in their Original version subtitled (better, indeed) in the cinema. In other countries, don't know if it's a traditional thing or a legal matter, but almost all the movies are dubbed, as a way to impulse their dubbing industry (Italy, I think)

Actually you've got it backwards.  The one from his left leg is missing.  Any pic of the full costume will confirm it.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

I haven't studied the film with the rigor of some, but from what I can tell, the room is shaped like a vesica piscis with the emperor's projection room being slightly larger than the meditation chamber. When Piett and other officers enter, they circle clockwise and stand just to the right of the kneeling platform.

*sy*

*8, see my above post.  The room isn't shaped like an 8.

Sluggo, I realize that the actual set was flipped to save space and materials, but the fictional room they created by reusing the set in that way, is shaped like an 8. If you look at the wide shot of Vader and the Emperor (5 in Imp's sequence), there is clearly a gap between the pylons on the left side that is the "waist" of the 8.

Although I suppose we should say that if Sluggo's right, then the fictional room we're reconstructing is slightly different than asterisk's diagram in that both halves of the room must be the same size (seeing as they're really the same room).

No, no.  You are clearly blinded by the love of the number 8.  It has even infected your screen name!

If you are only going for an 'internal' answer to this non-conundrum, the room could have been shaped like an oval.  Or the letter B.  Or maybe the meditation chamber retracted into the wall while it was off screen.  Or into the floor or the ceiling.  Or it could have transformed into a autobot named kenobus prime and is out fighting the evil forces of the decepticons.

As for the viewscreen, my 'external' answer (which I will ALWAYS prefer over the 'internal' ones) is that the screen was behind the Emperor hologram as in the picture below:

Because Ozzle is on the same ship as Vader (I think...). The Emperor and the ground troops are clearly somewhere far away.

Good thinking, Mr. Afraid.  It doesn't say one means of communication was preferred over the other, but it does seem to make it less inconsistent.

I don't see this viewscreen

in this picture or in the following full-face shot of the Emperor.

Am I missing it?

The screen is visible in this shot, provided earlier.  Where it is in the screencaps, well I'm sure more mockups would be in order.  :)

Heh, I'm okay now with an 'imaginary' overall '8'-shaped meditation/hologram room to make the various scenes in the movie tie-in.  Especially after seeing the shape of the set in the behind-the-scenes shot.  And I'm in the middle of knocking up a few shots to show how that can work okay with the viewscreen and doorway etc., having looked at a few scenes now.

I'll post them when I get a chance.
