Does anyone know where to find good quality versions of the original trailers to these?

There are two stalled OT.com trailer collection threads:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/lt-The-Star-Wars-Trailers-Project-gt/post/218379/

Much of these are probably collected from the Definitive Collection preservations by EDITDROID and Rowman, but people posted where they got the other trailers from, where that's not the case.

Below mentions a few non-english versions not part of the above discussion.

RE isolated scores and this project:

There are already so many audio mixes included that adding more would begin to seriously compromise the video quality.

Since ESB and ROTJ will include fewer mixes than Star Wars, though, it may be feasible for them.  But I'd rather all three remain consistent - either they all have isolated scores, or none of them, and I wouldn't add any more mixes to Star Wars for fear of hurting the video.

Just my two cents.

I agree.

I vote for no more tinkering so we can put this baby to bed.

This 'baby' is over 30 years old and has been in several million beds...  And even it's father has 'tinkered' it...

^Ditto to what ChainsawAsh and Sluggo said.

Well, isn't the "Imperial Edition" made for GOUT? It would be easy to just slide its audio track into TESB, right?

The Anthology soundtracks used McQuarrie and they were gorgeous.

I think simple logos would be terrific too.  Like one of Leguman 's Empire covers.  They're great logos.

The Anthology was gorgeous because:

1) It used the Mc Quarrie arts for the labels, indeed... But

2) The covers visual were so silent that they were almost black.

It's a little as if the surprise was inside.

I think Bkev said it: less is more, mostly when you have already 2 alt visual for each cover.

I also surmise what may disturb a few of you are the colors of the labels, regardless of the only two logos matter. True that alone they may look a bit futuristic (?) due to their simplicity.

Anyway, just giving my two cents. It's all yours now, commanders.

PS: D_J, perhaps you could show us what it gives through a montage as you did before for the IE DVD (please):

I am not sure I understand what you mean, do you mean an Imandix pic with the case and disc art together?

That just sounds... so wrong.

On another note, thanks for the comprehensive display of covers/labels d_j.

EDIT: Leguman, when will you be sharing high quality versions of those covers?

These covers were made for this set, and he sent the covers to me to be released with this set.

Ah, thanks d_j.  Even more reason to look forward to this release.

Wow ! Thanks D_J. I didn't expect one for each single version. :)

I don't feel I have my word to say on this but I'd gladly declare those labels definitive now that I see these in situation. I'd gladly declare Sluggo as completely wrong too ! (What did he think !?) :)

Precisely. ;)

And they've been done from original photos and scans, not from messed up "retouched" versions as we most often find on OT.com when googling high res SW posters. ;) The horizontal have lower qualities though, but will do it.

BTW D_J, the labels really don't need to be in .Tiff format. I should have sent these to you in jpg directly.

(EDIT: For info, my labels have always a margin for printing = no nead to try to make these match with the stickers cause they are real size labels and you won't miss anything. It is normal if you have half a centimeter over the sticker. The Imandix display show the labels shrinked here as they include the margin).

If you want an idea of the resolution at full size now, here they are. The mileage may vary but it's really good enough for printers:

Can we get one of all the spines sitting next to each other, as if it were on a shelf?  That'd be awesome.

... If we could have a couple of shots of you dancing and jumping around with the DVDs on a shelf in the background once you'll get these, THAT would be awesome !

That would actually make a cool cover as well, with some tinkering here and there. Yeah Sluggo, there! I said it =)
A three-disc-box trilogy cover or whatchyamacallit :p

HEY SONS OF BEEOTCHES! LET'S KEEP THIS THREAD ON TOPIC!

Just kidding, this doesn't bother me LOL, sometimes you can learn things in "off topic" ramble.

It bothers me. I prefer topics with a higher signal-to-noise ratio.

The lettering "Original Theatrical Edition" at the top of these has jaggies.  Suggest using anti-alias on this lettering to avoid the jaggies.

In all other respects: a masterpiece.

Indeed you're right. I've stated some computer problems before, meaning I brought back these files from an ancient computer to a new one.

I didn't have this rudimentary font on the new one and then I had to work with flattened layers.

However, considering it's 300dpi, I doubt that it's going to be really spottable on the final print size. But yes, you're right. Fortunately, anyone bothered by this will be able to fix it for himself.
