Lets see:

If you could have a choice of making ROTS as OT as possible visually, what would be the aspects that you could change,remove,replace,disenhance,CC...etc?
Lets take the example of the SE of ESB and the extended bespin/twin cloud car with the fancy fly scenes. Pre SE it was only a static matte that had a slight zoom to leia's window.
Considering that, how you think will be the more suitable approach to many many fancy shots of ROTS can be toned down while keeping the same running time? Trimming and cutting out shots is not the best option everytime, otherwise you could have a 30min movie at the end.
Ideas for shot replacement is welcome in shots you think its unberable fake and CGI or you think an other movie has better CG that can sell the concept better than ROTS.

The only restriction to all the above is: Think if your suggested idea is doable!

If you got ideas/ suggestions/ mockups on specific shots please share.

So much emphasis in the prequels was complexity and an exaggerated imagination instead of a character driven storyline.  To me what made SW so visually fascinating was the simplicity of it all, basically the complete opposite of what the prequels brought.  It would be amazing to have a version that dumbed down the complexity and needless fanciness.  

X-wings, tie fighters, the Falcon... very simple... what the hell is that bug helicopter crap?

But still i dont get shot by shot solutions.

Thats the real trick isnt it ;)

For example to make more clear to you. The helicopter bug shot could be removed and have a static shot of kashyyk with some distant traffic.

Or instead of flybys cut directly to close ups of the actors...

 I agree with Bingowings on this one. As much as the new films are designed to show off ILM skills instead of a good story and characters, Ive always enjoyed lookin at the difference between planets and the diversity of the designs and cultures etc. The visual design should be there as a interesting place for good plot and characters to reside in, not a gallery for 3d artists.

Hmm, I'm sure it would be possible Mith. But I have to agree with Fish's comment. 

 I do see your point of what a shot like that would represent. But having something like that pop up without any explanation as to how Anakin is all of a sudden on a Death Star would just raise more questions. Unless I'm not understanding exactly what your going for.

It's all good. Always good to toss some ideas around. Who knows what could come of it. 8)

I've been able to do some work, but nothing that's going to be posted just yet, sorry. Works been insane still about to head back off to the second job. Looks like another 18 hour work day for me.

Slow and steady wins the race I guess. I'm still moving along with the edit. Works been insane but I'm getting my time in when I can. Most of the things being done are part of the top secret sections of the movie. Hence no updates as of late. It's getting there tho. 8)

On a coolness note, I just got a Youtube friend invite from Samuel Witwer. The guy who plays Starkiller in TFU video games. Turns out he grew up only 2 miles away from me, in a Chicago suburb. Small Galaxy I guess.

So that would be my second closest brush to Star Wars royalty. The first being meeting George Lucas at his High School reunion party he was hosting at the Cubby Bear, downtown Chicago. I was DJ'ing in between bands downstairs. He was having a private party upstairs. So my plan was to sneak into there private room sometime during the night to try and meet him. But it turned out that during one of my breaks I bumped into Lucas in the mens room. Talk about a weird place to start a conversation with the man who made Star Wars. He was really cool tho.
