Is there a single Lucasfilm release on blu that has not been tampered with ?

THX 1138, not real version of the movie bad cgi cut.

American Graffiti color timing changed and cgi shot added, not real version.

And of course the star wars trilogy will be the crap 2004 video edit.

Hopefully they don't add that cgi shot in Raiders on the blu ray or no sale!

Is there even a DVD?

Prequels, no.

Originals, no. (well, kinda the GOUT, but it seems that at least SW and TESB have been tampered).

Droids, no.

Ewoks, no.

THX, no.

American Graffiti, no.

CW, no.

TCW, no.

Any others?

Well, that's not the case for either of the Clone War series.

The droids cartoon is missing whole episodes, has episodes recut, and is missing music. Young Indiana Jones was re-eedited to remove the bookends and altered to stitch 2 unrelated episodes into "movies". Howard the Duck is untouched and looks great.

The CGI Clone Wars series release on DVD are 16/9 cropping when they should be 2:35:1 as it is the ratio the episodes were done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not 100% sure with this.

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles are also altered.

I know the BRs are 2.35:1, i think the DVDs are the broadcast version.

I checked on DVDEmpire.com, and it appears that The Clone Wars DVDs are 2.39:1, not 16:9.

Droids and Ewoks took, what, 4 episodes apiece and cut them together to make a feature-length "movie" with completely re-done soundtracks?  I know that the vast majority of either series hasn't been released on disc.

Not sure about the Ewok movies - I know the title of the first one was changed.

Young Indy has been recut into feature-length "episodes" without the bookends.

Clone Wars was recut into two hour-long "films" (this I'm actually okay with).

Isn't The Clone Wars original, with the exception of the framing (aired 16:9, DVD/Blu 2.39:1)?

And I don't think Crystal Skull was altered for the Blu-Ray.

Ah, yes.  Crystal Skull.  Proof LFL can get something right!

If that's right, I don't mind being wrong.

What about the Clone Wars theatrical release? Was that altered for DVD/Blu?

AotC: It's the digital theatrical release, right?

I mean, I don't actually believe the movie exists at all, but if it did, I think that one is pretty close.

And RotS?  If it existed as a theatrical version and a DVD... are there differences?

There was one optical wipe that was different, but I'm not gonna make the mistake of posting a pic as dvdactive doesn't allow hotlinking.  So there.

But you can read about it here.

Sluggo - you're thinking of Episode III, not the Clone Wars theatrical film.

And if I'm not mistaken, the Episode II DVD is the DLP theatrical release with the Anakin/Padme scene in the Lars garage extended even beyond that.  Is this correct?

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones DVD Release
  • Several speeders were removed from a shot during the Bounty Hunter pursuit scene.
  • New dialogue added to the scene where Anakin confesses to the Tusken slaughter.
  • After Padmé falls out of the gunship on Geonosis, a clone trooper asks if she is all right. Her alert response of "Yes" has been changed to a more realistically groggy "Uh-huh."
  • Anakin's mechanical hand now holds Padmé's hand during the closing wedding sequence (this was originally included in the DLP theatrical release of the film, but not in the 35 mm film version).
  • During their duel on Kamino, a shot of Jango Fett headbutting Obi-Wan is removed from the UK version of the DVD.
  • Jedi Coleman Trebor confronts Count Dooku on the lookout balcony during the battle of Geonosis. Trebor is instantly shot dead by Jango Fett. The following shot shows Jango twirling his blaster pistol before slotting it back into his holster. In the theatrical release, this was a solo shot of Jango, but the widescreen version of the DVD has Count Dooku in the foreground, smiling as Jango twirls his pistol.
  • Moments before Mace Windu decapitates Jango Fett, sparks and a slight puff of smoke from Jango's jetpack can be seen, signifying that his jetpack malfunctioned.

No, I was right.  I just quoted the wrong sentence.

So what I said was correct.  From a certain point of view.

The Ewok movies were released theatrically in Europe, and those slightly different versions are what was released on video.

Does Labyrinth count as a Lucasfilm production?

I have it on Blu-ray and don't remember seeing anything altered.

Must have killed Lucas not to be able to somehow alter it.  A Lucasfilm release - completely untouched - released to the public in the current state-of-the-art format - and in its original theatrical form.  Imagine that, George -  letting people own the actual film they sat in the theaters watching.  It boggles the mind.

I wonder though, how much of that was Lucas and how much of it was Spielberg.  That said; both were on board with altering Raiders, so who knows?

You know, there is a very good chance that when the Holiday Special comes out on Blu-Ray, it will be the only Lucas movie ever released in high quality in its original theatrical form.  Wouldn't THAT be ironic.
