Warb is ignoring me so it might be nice if someone quoted me here, the first, sort of official (in the author's eyes) sequel to The Exorcist is The Ninth Configuration which isn't a horror film but has the most amazing bar fight and forms the centrepiece to Blatty's trilogy of films about faith (though it may become a trilogy of four parts if the film of Dimeter get's made).

Then you need to update the thread title.
You missed out the colon after "was".
oops, I'll go fix that.
Bah! Now it needs to be:
Warbler has watched The Exorcist(was: Warbler has watched The Exorcist(was Should Warbler watch The Exorcist?)(was: Should Warbler watch the Exorcist?)
IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.
So that's where my toaster went!

Sorry it was a typo the title is Dimiter, the third film should have been called Legion but the studio insisted it be called Exorcist III and had an exorcism tacked on to the end (which meant adding a character into the film which doesn't interact with anyone else)...it's still a good film but the few people who saw the original version (like Mark Kermode) thought it was a masterpiece before it was screwed around with.
The search for the original footage continues (Morgan Creek lost it down the back of the sofa).

YOU'RE RIGHT!
That makes it:

Well Warb other than not being frightened much by it what did you think of the film (the writing, the acting, the direction, the cinematography)?
Did you find it offensive as a Christian or actually faith affirming?
You started the thread for which you and got quite a bit of feedback what conclusions did you draw from it?
I dont get why adults deprive themselves of watching horror films, my wife was the same. They deprive themselves of a whole genere of film making.
Mind you, i watched the Evil Dead and An American Werewolf in London (classic shit your pants films, with no context) when i was about 12 and that sort-a desensitised me to visual horror.
In my latest phase of film hunting, nothing scares me out there, but some snuff films are too much for me, thats the stage when you should question if you should watch something or not

Some people don't watch musicals. Some don't like slapstick. I can't stand biopics. Why should horror get a pass?

I didn't deprive myself of watching horrors films. I've always enjoyed the classic Universal horror movies and I've also enjoyed the early Hammer films. What I deprived myself of, were the more modern gory horror movies.
TheBoost said: I can't stand biopics.
what's wrong with biopics?
My problem with biopics (and this is coming from someone who likes quite a few) is that most of them are pretty much the same story. Person gets famous, person starts doing a bunch of drugs, person loses all their friends, then A) person dies young, or B) person overcomes their addiction and redeems his/herself and has a big "comeback," which in real life was about a 1/10 as popular as it was made out to be in the biopic (the comeback, not the original famous-ness).

Your not missing much big man, it wasnt a personal attack. Im about to watch pirana 3D, which is supposed to be gory........i bet i fall asleep before the end.
Your missing out on the SAW franchise.....which is probbably best in hindsight.
I didnt answer the question, did i. Crap happens all over the world.
The first Saw was good. I saw 2 and 3, and have refused to watch any of the others. I still don't know how I was talked into thinking 3 would be any better than 2.
I have an almost identical story to tell when it comes to the Saw movies.
I was kind of put off watching the first one thinking it was going to be in the same vein as Se7en which I loath but it turned out to be smart and actually rather restrained.
Then I watched the sequel and I decided not to watch another.

Back in the eighties, I saw Jaws 3 at the cinema. Crap acting, non-existent story, a reliance on a 3D gimmick and abysmal special effects.
The 2010 remake of Piranha is even worse.

I saw what you did there.
I don't like a lot of modern horror movies because of the gore. I try to be careful what I put into my brain and I don't want a lot of gore or smut rattling around in there.

I watched the Amityville Horror in 3D on TV last year. Dumb. The 'ghost' thing at the end looked like a haunted piece of bubble-wrap.
Growing up with Tom Baker's Doctor on the box every Saturday I learned from a very early age to fear bubble wrap monsters.
I must kill, kill, kill every Ebay purchase.

Neither Jaws 3 or Piranha would have been one iota better if they were shot 2D. Pirhana was about half naked women dying in horrific ways, usually by killer fish.
This Anti-3D stance is odd to me. There have been some crap 3D movies since Avatar, but they were all crap to begin with.
I loved the boobs though...it was soft core porn mixed with semi core gore...CRAP in other words. I dont class it as bad as Jaws 3 because Richard Dreyfuss gave me a a laugh with his cameo of his original Jaws scene.
I hate (with a passion) the latest Hollywood fixation with over age actors playing high school kids all the time though.
The latest 3D push is another rant i can do aswell.....(Dont pay extra on the cinema ticket-e-boo/not buying another flat screen to view medicore films)

Is that new? Look at "90210" or "Beach Blanket Bingo." Leslie Howard played Romeo when he was 43.
Has there ever been a time when teens (or even young adults who actually look like teens) have played teens with any regularity?
I ment lately, being over the course of last thousand years that is
