I should finish reuploading my friend's rips, they were from nearly pristine tapes.  I never got around to it because my bandwidth was always getting eaten, but I'm taking it light for a while having just moved earlier this month, and gotten my connection back about a week ago.

Speaking of pristine tapes, my fullscreen VHS box still sealed.
Got it from my sis for Christmas that year, but didn't have a player!
Had my first DVD burner before I got my first VCR, believe it or don't

I do vaguely recall Molly's name associated with 'faces' preservation, but don't think I ever got it. Anyone wants Molly's Gonzo-->XviD reposted jlmk ;)

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

This would be cool.  I don't like snatching anything less than mpeg2 for this stuff as I burn and watch and compression isn't really a friend of mine....LOL

Let us know if you decide to do it.

Yeesh, the AVIs I made from Gonzo 7 years ago are still floating around?

Ha! No it was a different one, but what a coincidence.

How much did you sell yours for BTW?

I offered free postage, so deducting that it was about $43 US, which is a few dollars more than what I first paid for it new in '95 (it still had the Tower Records labels on it- it was on sale for $39.99). ;-)

That was certainly a nice price to get.  I got my Collectors Widescreen Edition Black Box recently for $0.99 + a few bucks extra for shipping.  It was used but it pretty fine condition.

I may hook up the Panny and do a basic transfer just for archive purposes...keep the tapes as best they can be anyways.

If by "floating around" you mean "filed in Mallwalker's archive", then yes. (Makes you wonder just how many GBs of data he has floating around, and where he puts it all.)

I just noticed that the "Faces" made in Japan LD set that I bought is still sealed.....looks like they are gonna get broken in when the SIMA color corrector arrives.

All right, take your time to post the set on usenet, then post in this thread when it's fully uploaded.

All six discs are up. Go get 'em.
You too russs
SFV files are segaflip's

One file is named wrong (VHS part83)
Just ignore it.

Thanks so much for doing this. I can now add these to my collection. ¬_¬

Thank You.

EDIT:
I've got a problem. I knew there was a time limit on the trial version of UseNext, but I didn't think they were gonna throw in a download limit as well! I was only able to get half of ANH widescreen done before UseNext said to upgrade my account and continue downloading.

Now what do I do?

@frink:
No offense, but I don't have the money to pay for a UseNext account. Plus I heard that those monthly bills can get really nasty.

When I did create my trial account, all I provided was my email (they didn't make me fill out their full form for some reason), so they most likely won't charge me when it expires. But now I'm gonna try and find a way to get the files off usenet for free. I heard it can be done...

You could try another provider with a free trial, such as Giganews.

In reference to the Faces LD's I have a question....is there any noticeable differences in the U.S. pressings and the Japan made for US pressings?

I have a set of each and just wondered if there is anything I'd need to look out for.

Thanks

I have some of each as well, and I've never noticed a difference.

I've actually recently read some where that the Faces made in Japan for the U.S. weren't as good a transfer as the U.S. ones were...and something about the U.S. ones being harder to find...or some darn business.
