How does Obi-Wan get Anakin's lightsaber to give to Luke if it plays out like this?

Aside from the multiple plot issues as previously mentioned which would have to be addressed I would hesitate to cut out so much of the big conclusion of ep.3.

"I know the whole burning and chopping thing looks pretty cool and it allows using the whole Vader transformation scene (which is also cool), but we could live without it and just imagine that Vader became robotic somehow in the time between EPIII and EPIV."

Personally I'd hate to edit out Anakin becoming Vader. For me at least - that's such an awesome and iconic moment in the saga. I dig almost every bit of that from the moment Anakin is violently cut down to his ultimate grisly transformation.

Those are my favorite moments of ROTS.

Bonkers idea incoming.

During the Clone Wars things could get so desperate that they start to clone Jedi.

So you could have an Obi-Wan clone called Ben who has a Padwan called Anakin and the original who is training the clone of Anakin called Vader.

Anakin turns to the darkside and adopts the identity of Vader because the both look the same.

Obi-Wan takes on the name Ben in exile in remembrance of his dead clone.

he gives it to padme (like in The Clone Wars: Hostage Crisis?) and uses a red lightsaber that Sidious gives him (like in bobgarcia74's edit)?

But how do you communicate that onscreen?

i had an interesting idea, i was thinking that it would be interesting if instead of having a crawl perhaps the prequels could have opening credits like the Superman I, II, and Returns, where the crawl text comes up on the screen stationary (like in Returns) and then after that the credits swoosh by like STM with the STAR WARS logo swooshing by after the first two or three credits then the rest of the credits go by with perhaps the throne room music playing underneath, or fan composed music utilizing themes for the PT in place of OT themes (or just use OT themes)

EDIT: the stars would remain stationary as normal though

just something that i would be interested to see

I've always thought Cappadociandock dwellings would look cool in the Star Wars Universe.

Thanks for posting. I was made the same suggestion

I find that interesting while browsing images. Altering ben's hut to be more nature like house. A house in a rock.

Taking references from cappadocia it could be more interesting creating new scenes. Funnily enough the interior of some hotels/houses are like ben's hut. So the connection fits :)

here some images for sampling and showing the concept :)

Or having two Ewan's and two Hayden's on screen at once (they don't even have to sound exactly the same so dialogue could be pulled from other films).

Yes, bonkers but cool.

But I have no idea how you'd even begin to pull that off for a edit.

Before you attempt any form of colour correction make sure that you have your monitor properly calibrated. That video is way too orange/ brown so i can guess that your monitor is probably set to "cool".

It is a little orange, but it does have an interesting look to it. Looks more like an early nineties movie to me.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

One of the first things I was taught in film classes that involve color-correction, first in Telecine & Color Correction and now in Avid Online, is that you need to calibrate your display.  (Hell, we're expected to do it every time we sit down to color correct, but that's likely just because other people use the workstations outside of our classes, so we have to be sure to undo any damage they did.)

Look up "display calibration" on Google, I'm sure you can find something to help you there.  If your display can do blue-only, or you have a blue filter, you can use SMPTE bars to calibrate it (you can still use them to set brightness).

There is a vital distinction to be made between colour correction (returning colours to their correct, original state) and colour adjustment (changing them for effect).

A lot of what is posted on these forums as colour correction is nothing of the sort.

Changing a colour palette for a different mood makes sense on a thread like this (though I'm not sure what mood change a slight peachy hue shift creates).

Regardless, your display still needs to be calibrated, or when you bring it over to a display that is calibrated, it won't look the way you meant for it to look.
