Would anyone want to see more star wars movies if they were made ?

After the horrible Prequels, and Clone Wars movie i wonder if anything decent could be made even as a spin-off without much Lucas involvement.

Watching the preview cinemas for the Old Republic, and playing the first Kotor made me wonder why there has been nothing like those or the spin off dark horse comics that are better than the recent Luca$h films.

Would it even be worthwhile to make good star wars again, or is it just beating a dead horse?

Even the newest del rey novels leave a lot to be desired,  i am more looking forward to Force Unleashed II and Old Republic.

I am even sort of excited for the third Filoni clone wars season, hopefully lucash is left out as far as possible.

I would love to see new Star Wars films which showed what kind of world the Rebels built.

If Lucas made them they would be crap but he thinks the story is over anyway.

No, it's true, he does think the story is over.

The chances of Star Wars coming from Lucas are a million to one...but still they come.

Unless the main character was Jar Jar, I'd see a new movie. But I wouldn't go in expecting much.

I'd prefer a post-ROTJ story. Throw in an older Luke role for Hamill, and I'm definitely there.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Heaven help me... I would see it.  Even if I didn't want to.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

I didn't see the last one, I don't think I'd see another.

I would see it if it's a rebooted PT with minimal (or no) involvement from George.  But only if it was meant to gel with the OOT, and not to reboot the franchise from the ground up (I would never see a remake of the OT).

I would consider seeing a sequel trilogy, but probably not if it were written/directed by George like the PT was.

Another Empire situation would be ideal (George comes up with the story, a good writer does the script and a good director does the film).

I'm too attached to the Thrawn trilogy to want to see anything that would supercede them.  Plus, the chance of such a thing being even a quarter as good as Zahn's work is marginal at best.

I'd see a completely redone set of prequels that jived with the original trilogy, though.

You know what, when I first read the thread title I've seen this:

Would anyone want to see more star wars movies if they were mad

... I think that replies for me !

Not after seeing the Prequels (and I never saw Clone Wars).

I agree with Erikstormtrooper-
Perhaps if someone (not Lucas) were to make some more Sequels, (post-ROTJ) and were able to get Mark Hamill to participate like he had originally agreed to do, I might be interested if the story was good and there was minimal CGI. But that will never happen.

Mielr, you confused the hell out of me (my real name's Erik)!

This always seems to happen when that damn stormtrooper's around ...

Sorry! I'll fix it to be more specific. ;-)

Haha, I really don't care.  I just always forget Erikstormtrooper's here, too.  And that there's nothing in my username or signature that would indicate what my real name is.

Yes, but either as redone prequels or then something completely different, like KotOR style. And without Lucas.

I would like to see new movies set in the same universe, but I don't want anymore journey's of jedi and pointless lightsaber battles. Could even go the Jedi Knight route and make new characters. Hell, a Kyle Katarn movie would be better than ROTJ in the right hands.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Honestly, the only surefire way to get me excited about a Star Wars movie would be Episode VII, which I could totally see them doing in another eleven years anyway.

Hmm.  It's been two years since The Clone Wars movie.  I never saw that, and I have no desire to ever see it, so I guess I wouldn't be far off in saying, "No."

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

An episode 7 with Hamill (a Ford cameo would be a plus, but I try to stay a bit realistic here...) and with a new director would be the only way to get me a little exited.

And of course a story that worths a sequel (I think that is the hardest part).

I wasn't interested in that, either, and I couldn't care less about those kind of movies but still if done right some SW movies could be interesting.

It should never have got a cinema release but The Clone Wars (the telly pilot with a cinema release) is nowhere near as bad as I expected going by the reviews and for all it faults felt more like Star Wars than any of the prequels.

The series itself is really rather good.
