He owns the copyrights and nothing we say will change his mind.
He is he most egotistical of all filmakers, he believes essential in a creators rights which i do also, but at expense of destroying the only good films he ever made.
Thanks to his ego i cannot watch decent original versions of star wars oot trilogy, thx 1138 or American Graffiti. I can watch the indiana jones trilogy pretty much untampered with and Willow but those were not directed by Him. Neither were Empire and Jedi but Lucas would disagree.
He will continue to make Bad Prequel stuff and cgi farce Indy pictures because they make money.

Um...why would you laugh at that?
*confused*
[I think I'm slowly turning into Frink ... that can't be good ... ]
I guess you cannot understand the humor and absurdity of a once great filmaker destroying his own films or making a mockery out of these legendary series. Cannot see the humor in how pathetic both star wars and indiana jones have become.
Still i will have my joke and laugh at how Lucas has gone off the deep end and nuked the fridge. It is worth a chuckle.
Otherwise things are rather grim, we cannot undo that he has erased the true star wars trilogy from existence or that he committed the greatest atrocity in film history by burying the oot.

That's not the point. The point is that you make these threads ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. And it's getting old.
Stop beating the dead horse. We get it already. It's not like you have to convince us to be on your side on this issue, we're already there.
I don't get you guys. I'm totally with SkiJedi on this one.
^^Everything CA said is truth.
I'm sure I'm going to piss a few people off with this post (slow computers and all), but fuck it, this is the dumbest thread of the week. And that's really saying something.

Ah so much pessimism. Star Wars and Indy are just fine. We do need proper DVD release though.
That pretty much sums it all up.
I am sorry i ever posted this thread. please just let it die.
Maybe losing star wars forever and not being able to revisit my formative years was a process of growing up, maybe i should cease to care for it since it has caused me nothing but grief. Not in actuality but in a sense as a fan.
Maybe i should be thanking Lucas for destroying film history.
Will people actually be buying the "let them eat cake" blu ray edition, without the originals?
Roll over like a good little dog and finish up master Lucas table scraps, lol.
I guess sarcasm is all i have left because of how absurd the whole situation is.

I really do not understand this point of view at all. Why have you lost Star Wars for ever? The cleaned up versions of the GOUT are starting to look very good indeed. The OOT is available in a number of preservations. You can watch it any time you want.

Hole situation? Lucas threw the original cuts into a hole? ...Yeah, that is quite absurd.
edit: You beat me with your editing skilz!!!!1!!
I own the factory pressed Gout. The quality is shit. I guess i should be happy that is the only form the movies will exist on in the future since the negatives will be lost to time.
No i am not rich enough to build a home theater and track done 16mm prints that are not faded.
Like i said i have ceased to care anymore. Star Wars is dead to me and Lucas will never get another dollar of my money.
After all like Mr. Lucas says it is after all just a movie.
Maybe i should get a life, right mr simpsons character fink?
Hey at least you can be a Simpson's fan Since Matt Groening has not replaced the originals with bad cgi versions
Hurry up Fink, i am totally missing an Ice cream post right about now, i will be dreadfully disappointed if you don't post one.
Please do another hijack of the thread as you have done to every other thread, i am done. Turn it into an oh-snap or LolCats marathon. Why have any sort of discussion at all, its just a circle jerk anyway you are right and i am wrong i will begin again right where i started like a cat chasing its tail. Screw LFL.

So what? You can still watch the films, and the cleaned up versions are far better than the factory pressed GOUT. Just because the quality of something is less does not mean you have lost it. It's about the film, man. If only Puggo's excellent 16mm transfer, with all its image problems, remained of Star Wars I would still watch it any enjoy it. I watched it the other day, and I still enjoyed the film.

Lucas isn't that powerful.
Don't you make this thread every hour of every day of every week for the last 13 years?
There is good cause for reiteration every now and then.
It's not as if it does any harm.
Persistence can be a virtue, it's part of Skyjedi's idiom (like my constant use of bracketed asides).
