Urgh I'm so frustrated with myself for not having this edit done yet.  I did a ton of work on it over the summer and still have nothing to show for it.  It's still sitting, almost completed, and I just can't seem to find the time or inspiration to take about an hour and a half and pull it all together.  Sorry everybody.  Hopefully next weekend sometime I'll be able to do some work on it.  In the meantime enjoy Dan's, as it is good as well.

I understand where you're coming from - it's pretty exhausting and depressing watching the same clips day after day. How Adywan does it year after year is unbelievable to me.

I find that taking a week or two off, promising yourself you won't touch it... maybe even trying a quick stress-free fanedit just for yourself - I'm doing an edit of T2 now just for fun (that thumbs up had to go :p) - can help a lot.

I am a newbie and trying to watch this fan edit as well as others but am doing something wrong because its not working.

I have downloaded winrar, jdownloader, and ImgBurn. I have several fanedits in jdownloader that appear to be successful. There is a list of rar files from rapidshare. I know I grabbed the dlc file using rar and put it in jdownloader, maybe it just shows that way?

When I try to burn a dvd from the files using Imgburn I get nothing that will play. I am so lost and would love a kind soul to help me.

I don't think you can watch this fanedit yet as it is not done.

For the other edits, you need to download all the rars through jdownloader (sounds like you've done that already?) then use an unzipper program to extract the files out of the rar files.  Try 7zip, winrar, or tugzip for example.  You should end up with either a single .iso file or a folder(s) typically marked "video" and sometimes also "audio."  Use imgburn with either the .iso file or the "video" and other folders, depending on what you got.

I suggest asking similar questions in the "how-to and technical advice" forum.

I want to know how he got the edit in the first place, I never sent it to him.  Not that I wouldn't, but I just didn't. 

And thanks dan, hopefully.  The problem is I'm so busy that even when I take breaks from it, it doesn't feel like breaks at all and when I come back to it it feels like busywork again.  Hopefully I'll be able to get it out there, because the majority of the work was done back when I had a heart for this project.  I'm kind of growing exhausted of it, but hopefully it won't matter.  FOr the small amount of work that's left I won't really need much inspiration, just a couple hours to merge all my edited sequences together into one flowing film with a few tweaks, adjust the audio in a few places, and make a DVD.

The editing of the film is finally complete.  Now I just need to make the DVD.  I'm still not ruling out the possibility of a 2.0 if people have problems with it that I can see a way to fix.  But for now, it's complete.

Would somebody with a rapidshare or megaupload account be willing to download a private torrent of the DVD of this when I get it finished and upload it for me?  I don't know how else to get it out, I don't think I could handle uploading a DVD5.

I would be willing, but I don't touch torrents under any circumstances.  Try uploading it on a free account.  It might not take that long.  Multiupload is supposed to be good and quite fast.  It would be a shame if no one saw your edit. 

Yes, I would upload to a free MU account.  I've done it for a few SW prequel edits and it's not that big of a hassle.  Just use their automated uploader program and you should be able to upload a DVD-5 in a day or so.

How long will that stay up though?

Yeah, I think it stays up a certain number of days (30? 60?) after the last download, so as long as people keep downloading it, it will stay up indefinitely.

Bad news, I guess the edit isn't as complete as I thought.

I'd only previewed this at the computer, so last night I decided to burn a DVD and watch it at the entertainment center.  I noticed that on some edits there would be a loud POP and an audio drop out for a fraction of a second at the point where video segments switch.  (God, I fucking hate womble sometimes).  Has anybody else ever had this problem when working with womble?  It's not the edit itself that's making the pop, and some of them didn't show up at all until after I had exported it.  (I mean, when I played it in womble as a project file it didn't do it as bad).  If I can't figure out a way around this, I guess I'm going to have to find a different program to edit with and start from scratch.  (which won't take as long as the first time, because I already know what I want to do and some things are clearing up in my life and I'll have more time to work on it).

It's not all the edits, it's actually kinda random but I'm not releasing it like this it's very distracting and it's pissing me off I did all this work for womble to just butcher the audio track like that.

That stinks.  I really do hope you find a way around this.  I want to see it.  Once it is done, I'd be happy to start a torrent for you if you don't have any luck with the m.u. route.

I'm having trouble deciding if I should remove the scene where threepio tells stories to the ewoks or not.  I like threepio in the scene, and I'd hate to remove his stand out moment in the saga.  But if I left it in there'd definitely have to be some trimming and tinkering to try and remove the more kiddish ewok shots during.  Any opinions from you guys?
