I need to talk to Jay about this unsubscribing nonsense, cuz it happened AGAIN...

Yes, please do, because I don't think ady can help you with this.

:p

I never implied that. (though you never know what Ady might know) Perhaps I'm just trying to find answers that I've never gotten. And I made an ESB related comment after that, so leave me alone. ;) And you made me write this dumb post, too. ;)

Not only the "ommhhh" from the special edition sounds like Vader through his mask, but in addition you really recognize James Earl Jones voice what is not the case of the old one.

I agree. The SE sounds more like vader rather a random arg from a dude. Besides the pre SE sounds like someones is spiting after he was smoking for 30 years.

If you all stacked with the pre SE arg i suggest adding a more robot effect to the voice like ady did in ANH:R? I still vote for the SE one

What does this mean?

It was a general statement, not personaly orientated. Nothing bad. The other thing it means is that I see the SE "Ommmhh" like an improvement (for once!).

Aaaarrhh expresses something that hurts. The "ooommmhhh" is more contained and expresses better an effort - the one he makes to collect his force when he takes the foot stroke. It also *imho* fits totally to a character who's such as he won't allow himself to show any weakness going through.

... You have the "Aaaaarrrhh" after, on the core bridge, when he takes the lighsaber stroke on his shoulder. There, it really hurts!

Possible the 1st "Aaaarrrhh" from the '80 mix was lifted and transformed from the 2nd besides (unless it is the contrary)... It should be checked out.

Of course not :D  -- I simply had no idea what the sentence meant.

Ah!  I understand.  I appreciate your reasons and will indeed listen to both again, but I have simply never liked how the oomph sounded.

I understand. I think a very small thing could improve it again between these two: lower its volume, or make it shorter (I think it was a bit long if I remember).

I think you are right.  Shortening it and lowering the volume a little might be a good compromise. :-)

I have to watch the parts you guys are referring to. I recall Vader screaming I think. But I don't remember it standing out per say.

I know this is a tad Offtopic...but aicn has been posting rare Empire pics....I've never seen this one in particular.

Ah ^^ Cool............yeah I think I read it was in the book or something.

I have this image of bespin duel and i think this was not in original movie and i didn"t see it in any edit or original version.

http://www.scifi-forum.net/gallery/Personal-album-of-Coconut/Bespin-Duel-06-pic_2403.htm

Is there any additional footage of Bespin Duel?

Plus

I don't like new version of this shot:

In new version duel is getting lost in lights of the tunnel. Old version is better in this. Background in original is more dark for good of duel visibility. I think it's not good to fix background. I'm getting lost in all that lights of new version

I think it won't be as bad as you think.

Keep in mind that moving objects always pull your focus. So even though the still might seem 'cluttered' or whatever, in motion that will diminish.

The overall background replacements have been great improvements, and this will be as well.

Aren't these scenes in blue depth because on planet is getting late? Han and Luke stay outside over the night so.....

I just checked the CC version, and at the end of the scene where Han is putting the shelter up and the camera zooms out, the area gets darker/more bluish.

The original blue still looks to me like a bad day-for-night effect due to processing.

What about some kind of transition? Of course not in one shot...In final where Han making "tantaun house" there would be original blue and five minutes before there would be revisited white. continuously it would change

Author

Well, I'm just glad the overall blue hue has been neutralised. Ady knows what he's doing.

Oh, and I love the term "Tauntaun House" <:D

I have to admit something is right in what Coconut says.

The blue filter on the left is sure awful, but the "pristine" contrasts + the sharpness look "too much" (for me) on the right.

This was the scene I liked the less in the - awesome though - theatrical reconstruction of Adywan. I had to close my eyes a half for it stopped hurting (and I don't really exagerate). I found the extremes lights/darks too proeminent.

... A work based on this shot would be awesome, and it looks really like another famous shot I have in high res from this sequence. These are for me the true colours:
