Thanks (again :P)! No need for that, just needed the name and downloaded them.

Here's something I made for myself (since it's not in English, sorry), it's a complete replica of the first original VHS cover from 1985. Hope you enjoy it.

I recently saw doublex776's dvd cased based off of the 1995 VHS, and I really liked them, so I wondered what would happen if they made those for the prequel trilogy, so I started working on it,based off of doublex776's design. It's still a work in progress, but I'd just like to share what I did so far. Credit to doublex776 for the amazing originals!

Here's a sample of kinda goofy box art I'm making for my Pwnage Edition disc.  Not that the "official" art isn't good, I just wanted something more Criterion-esque.  I might so some similarly minimalist stuff for dark_jedi's versions.

This is brilliant.  Reminds me of the Star Wars credits by Saul Bass thing that went around awhile ago.

I was playing around with vintage covers (as others have done, admittedly).  Here's my SW one:

Finished my cover set today for what will eventually be the OOT. :) They're based pretty closely on the original VHS releases; the only tweaks are minor corrections to the text, and then adding a consistent color scheme to the spines (and keeping some SW fonts for the ESB spine).

I did a fourth cover for the "specials" - the vintage making-of specials + the Holiday Special.

Those covers are charming!!!

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I'd like to put these up on rapidshare or megaupload or something, but have never done it--does one need to sign in/have an account to do so?

Sweet. Uploading now. I'm including the three disc labels I've made as well (one for Adywan's theatrical ESB, purist ANH, and Jambe Davdar's "Building Empire.")

Imrahil, those are the cat's pajamas bee's knees!  I'm grabbing them when I get home.

Just a question:   Why is Jedi the Original Trilogy Edition?

They all are.  Those red ribbons used to say "HI FI STEREO!" and I figured I'd put something a bit more pertinent on it.

Ah, I didn't look hard enough to see the ribbon in the lower corners of the others.

And Fink: deal with it.

Here's my Star Wars just finished. I know nobody cares, LOL, but let me know what do you think about the poster colors, it's hard to get it right not knowing what it should look like, haha.

Looks pretty accurate to me.

Mmmmhh. Looks even better than mine, from here, notably the blues from the background...

Perhaps I took more care of the foreground colors though.

Looking good, LexX.

This is my attempt and it looks now almost exactly like the original poster hangin on my wall.

This is my all time favorite movie poster, I know it comes in at least three different color schemes due to different printings.

I would really love to have the original Tom Jung artwork in hi-res before the droids were added by another artist, the same thing was done on the half-sheet.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com

Thanks for the feedback. I'm liking it, too. Now off to Jedi. Btw does anyone have HQ pic of just the style B poster art? The poster crops it from top and bottom too much.

As far as "sharpening" and that stuff goes...your final print area for the poster will be the size of a postcard.  Nobody's going to notice. :)

If you're speaking about msycamore image, he - fortunately !!) hasn't posted his original file (which I know). You would need about 3 or 4 screens to watch it, bud ! Haha !
