Believe it or not the music in the video Moth3r posted is from Holst the planets.
So did they use Holst in Mario 3? i mean the tempo is faster but they are very similar.
Now i am not quite sure since it has been ages since i listened to it, but i believe this song is called "Mars the Bringer of War". And was the temp track for star wars main title.
