I also want to again thank d_j and G-force and hairy_hen for their continuous work and contributions to these. The previous set are my current "definitive" versions, and I can't wait to see V3. ;-)

OK just wanted to drop a line and let those that are interested know that I have the '80 Stereo Theatrical mix and the '85 Stereo Remix finished, so hopefully they will be included, just need hairy_hen's new 5.1 mix and ESB is done.

Then on to SW's Remix.

What remains to be done to the Star Wars mixes? I thought those were completed already.

(Not trying to sound impatient. I'm just eager to get these puppies!)

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I am ripping all the '85 remixes as well and sync'ing to the GOUT video, I am putting together a master raw PCM set of all stereo mixes, I am getting this from the JSC set I have, then it is off to Jedi, but it is getting easier now with all the experience I am getting now, not as frustrating anymore, Adywan was right, Vegas is very COOL once you get used to it.

Not sure if the remixes will be on the DVD's or not but they might.

This is quite exciting!  We'll finally have ALL the mixes for all 3 films, minus the true 70mm for Star Wars and any form of the 70mm for Empire and Jedi, synced to the GOUT!

'Tis a great thing you've done for Star Wars fandom, DJ!

I just jumped into this thread and scanned through the first several pages and the last several. Dark_Jedi, this project sounds amazing!

I'll wait till V.3 is finished before grabbing anything, but I was wondering if someone could shoot me a PM and tell me where the "usual places" for d/ling these things would be.

Thanks in advance!

Very cool! Sounds like a lot of work!

I guess we shouldn't expect to ever have true 70mm mixes available, considering the source. Which is awesome since we virtually have one for Star Wars. This is unrelated to the current topic, but would it be possible to basically turn the ESB/ROTJ 1993 mix into a 5.1 upmix using the same methods? I must assume these come from the 70mm stems just as Star Wars did.

Perhaps.  But there's the heavily-rumored possibility that Empire's 70mm version had several visual/edit differences beyond the audio mix alone.  I haven't heard anything about Jedi's 70mm version at all.

I hope everything is going well with this project, keep up the good work. Looking forward to this.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Just want to let everyone know this project is not dead, I am just waiting for files is all, I have the Theatrical Stereo mixes & the Stereo Remix(from the JSC set) done for SW and ESB(will do Jedi later), just waiting on h_h's new ESB mix(but I have his old mix ready to go if there is not going to be a new one) and g-force's new Jedi script, so in the meantime I am working on the '97 SE set.

and once these are done, I am NOT doing anymore DVD projects for Star Wars again LOL.

Just a static menu with audio, I felt I needed to have a main and audio selection menu this time so everyone can pick which audio they wanted.

Go back three posts*, and find your answer you will.

After that, go directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

Depending on the response, if any, from hairy_hen on his new ESB 5.1 mix he is doing, I am going to go ahead and author SW and ESB and get these 2 done for now, I will just go ahead and use the first ESB 5.1 mix from the previous versions, then I will get Jedi's Theatrical and Stereo remixes syn'd and have them ready for the video.

I have just authored ESB v3 with all 4 audio options(Theatrical stereo mix, DD 5.1 mix, '85 home remix, '93 stereo mix) and audio on the static menu's along with a bonus and all fits fine.

now to test out SW v3, it won't have any bonus but will have static menu's with audio and this 1 will have 5 audio options.

also I want to thank sluggo for the menu images I am using, and ABC for the menu audio(I am taking the audio from his CD projects, ESB is from the "Audiophile" release).

Once I am certain everything fits and works, I will go to work on ROTJ's Theatrical and Home video stereo mixes.

OH, the bonus on the ESB DVD is the rare 1980 "Empire Hotline" recordings, all 5 are there, I wasn't going to put them on but I figure this will be a good way for me to preserve them so I don't lose them LOL.

Woo-hoo!  I'm incredibly excited!

Any word on the possibility of releasing the uncompressed WAVs of the '80, '83, and '85 audio mixes?
