The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released) — Page 31

The volume labels are not going to be accurate. Life goes on.

I am including the artwork as a supplement, but I am not integrating it into the disc images. I want all the folders to be unmolested and true to the originals.

This supplement has already been posted to usenet.

I'm not positive I have the "official" artwork. I believe that I do. The collection consists of jpegs, tiffs, and pdf files. It includes cover art, disc labels, and inserts. There was a readme.nfo included with the files that refers to the collection as the "original" artwork.

The iso files are complete and due to be posted to usenet.  See the alt.binaries.starwars thread for more details.

Anybody who has the editroid set willing to do a trade with me? OR a Blanks and Postage costs deal whatever.

Send me a PM.

I only really want them so i can watch the film with the isolated music track, which i think sounds like a sweet feature for John Williams fans.

Just so You know i own the gout and the laserdiscs, so i hope i'm not breaking any rules.

I also own the music anthology box and the special edition soundtracks.

How hard would it be for example the rip the the isolated score from the editrdroids discs and sync it to the superior quality gout?

I know someone on youtube has put up an isolated score.  But i want the editdroid quality presentation.  I already have the Bonus discs and the editdroid star wars with the mono mix and no isolated score.   I need the other version of a new hope they produced.  I'm not too sure but i think they only did 1 version of empire strikes back and return of the jedi.

I'd help you out, but I lost my EditDroid set long ago.

And it shouldn't be terribly difficult, I wouldn't think, but I haven't tried it myself, either.

Sadly i never have gotten rid of my fan preservation discs so much as they have succumbed to laser rot or the dye layer has failed.  The worst of which happens to be my fave disc.  The Dark Jedi Star Wars 1985 CAV laserdisc transfer.  It is terribly ironic too because my laserdisc copy is almost no longer readable in certain sections, and the dvd was my backup.

I also have been doing some digging in my room here and can't seem to be able to find the dark/saga japan special collection.  I wish there were more preservations of those laserdiscs.  DJ at one point was going to center the picture properly and get rid of the annoying japan hardsubs.  He was going to do a letterbox and an anamorphic version.  Not sure what happened i think he said something like it was not worth doing since the gout was released.

I also like the 1997 special editions set captured by dark  jedi and menus by boba feta.  I don't really love the 97 changes but it was a nice set nontheless and impressive.

Does anyone have Disc Art and Cover Art for EditDroids Special Features Disc 3 and 4?

EDIT:  What exactly is the JACKET_P folder?  What is it for and how do I open the files contained inside?

The JACKET_P folder contains files that are used by some players to graphically represent the disc with artwork. For example, in a multi-player, the artwork would let you know what disc is loaded.

I should have that ED artwork somewhere. Let me look around for it and I'll let you know...

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

Can someone clue me in as to what the Star Wars v2 edition of this is? I got a copy of ED set ("mysterious mysteries" or whatever it was called) back in late 2005. Was the V2 release the same transfer as this with the name editdroid now attached? I'm wondering what the actual picture is like.

This is the sort of question that the Fan Project Wiki was designed to answer; however, due to the current lack of participation with adding/updating details on the wiki, you would be better off checking out Russ' old GTF site.

Ah, cool. It turns out V2 is the one I had. I have a surprise for everyone though. You'll find out tonight. :D

I picked out these discs from the stack the other night to watch them again. Man, I just love the menus, the extras, etc. everything just is so nostalgic. Really, it's the standard those 2006 "limited edition bonus discs" should have striven for.

The thing that truly sets this one apart IMO is the isolated score.

Ah yes, how could I forget that?

The isolated score, the Ralph McQuarrie artwork gallery... not found on your average SW dvd, that's for sure!

Shame these new sets don't seem to have it... should I ever find the EditDroid for Star Wars (I have the other two), I'll probably try and synch it up and hope they line up exactly.

I'm surprised your fan made dvd's have degraded already. The bootleg set I got in 2005 (it wasn't editdroid, don't have that nor do I have any laserdiscs) for me is holding up fine. Now I actually put printed labels on to them which made them not play all the way through. Star Wars also got scratched by a rock in a portable dvd player (the scratch is circular so it only affects the Yavin battle of the movie).

About a year ago, I was able to copy every disc with the label intact (except for Star Wars because of the scratch) and the copies play fine. And while the dvd's I was sent may have been totally blank front Taiyo Yuden or whatever, I copied them to store brand Sony. Plus the Star Wars disc still plays in the parts of the movie that aren't affected by the scratch.

The problem with the discs is the fuzzyness of the laserdisc playback which the official LFL release does away with. Additionally, the compression is very noticeable. And the bonus discs of other Star Wars specials could have used some basic level adjustment and if they were done today, would probably look clearer because of better digital compression since 5 years ago.

Hmmm . . . not sure I like your tone.
What's wrong with the seeder you've got?
What's wrong with your firewall?

When the pizza deliverer knocks, do you open the door?
Or do you lock it, and sit inside starving, safe behind your firewall?

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I was trying to be humorous, with an Invader Zim reference. But it didn't work so well haha. Sorry, I'll definitely be more polite in the future. Switching Torrent clients just now allowed me to get your seed. Thanks a bunch!

Mallwalker, are you dropping a little free-style poetry on us?  I can dig it.

Okay guys, I am late to the party here.  Can someone please PM the DLC or link info to me?  I am especially interested in the bonus materials discs.  I want to compare them to my Gonzo sets and then help share the love with my results.

Any help would be great.  :)  Oh yeah, are these NTSC or PAL?

Thanks!
