[REQUEST] Star Wars John Alvin DVD covers...

Would anyone be willing to make high resolution custom DVD covers based on the John Alvin poster art? The first copies of the Star Wars movies I ever had was the 1995 VHS box that used this artwork, and I always loved it above all other Star Wars posters.

I have some high quality scans of this artwork, but if you happen to have even better versions then feel free to use that. I would be eternally grateful if anyone could do this for me (and anyone else who wants them).

Here are some scaled down versions of the artwork and my VHS covers, if you feel up to the task please tell and I will post the higher resolution ones because they are 70 MB big!

The Empire Strikes Back;

Return Of The Jedi;

Covers;

If possible I would like them to be exact replicas of the VHS covers, NO custom layouts or alternative screencaps!

Don't worry about the Dutch text on the back of my VHS covers, I want it in English, just use whatever text the English covers had. The barcode and age certification logo don't have to be included, but if you do please make them a bit smaller. And the THX logo on the spine can stay but please get rid of the rainbow colours.

Like I said, these are only the scaled down versions, contact me for the high quality ones.

I'm sorry if this sounds nitpickish, but I really love those covers and I'd be very grateful if anyone with good photoshop skills would do this.

Thanks on advance,

Dennis

I'll upload the cover art later, I'm having some problems uploading them.

EDIT: Thanks for the covers Moth3r!

Does anyone have some *really* high quality versions of the John Alvin poster art from ANH/ESB/ROTJ, preferably without any logos and stuff.

EDIT: I'm talking about these in case anyone wonders:

I have reasonably high quality versions of these, but the colours aren't as good and they're missing the top part. Even though the top part is mostly sky it's where the titles belong otherwise I'd have to put them over the faces :(

EDIT: Does anyone perhaps know if/where I could buy these as posters?

A bit on the top is cut off, though... these may be what you already have. Hope not though.

I just bought the Japanese LD of The Empire Strikes Back:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390117083573&_trksid=p2759.l1259#shId

It has the full John Alvin artwork, so I'm planning on scanning it in high quality.

What resolution (dpi, ppi) would you suggest at minimum for a high quality scan? I only have a low resolution scanner so I'm planning on taking it to a copy/scanning center.

One center says they can deliver 600dpi, is this photo quality?

EDIT: bkev, thanks a lot, those are really good! Did you get those from the UK VHS Executor Collector's Box?

They're in the hi-res poster art thread in General Star Wars, hence the quotes. No idea the source.

I did a series using the artwork, I think the covers are around here somewhere. Also did I-II-III with artwork I created in the same style of Alvin.

600dpi should be more than enough.  I scanned the Betty Boop stuff at 300dpi and it was plenty.  You can clearly see the dot pattern at that resolution, so 600 may even be overkill.  One thing is for sure, it will be a huge file!

At the risk of Bumping a year-old thread... I'm going to try my own take on this. Won't be fully faithful, but I want to use the original logos that were on this set:

id LOVE a high res copy of these posters then the ones satnika posted as these have the top bit

"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings
