Someone should make a true theatrical version based on this version, that would be great.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

PM sent. And if you don't know how to go about using the .dlc files, the answer is somewhere in this topic.

OK, using this and Ady's AVCHD I made a partly despecialized HD version, which I might decide to make available but only if 1) I get Adywan's permition to do so as it's mostly his work anyway and 2) if I'm satisfied with the quality results when the compresion is finished.

Oh and sorry, didn't wanna hijack this thread  but I don't know wheather a new thread about it should go to fanedits or preservations. Could somebody please help me with that?

I tried to find someone's previous post about the audio drop outs in the climax of the gantry scene and the Falcon's Bespin escape but I couldn't find it in the thread.

Anyway, wanted to let the poster know that I also heard those audio drop outs last night. Has anyone else heard them? They are literally for a single frame each but noticeable.

Blast! Parts 1-32 downloaded just fine, but the remaining ten files are being troublesome. The "Status" section reads as follows:

I tried reloading the list in JDownloader, to no avail. Very frustrating. Anyone encounter this?

Oops, nevermind. A quick check around teh intraweb reveals that this is a common problem today with Jdownlader and Rapidshare. Apparently this is solved by either a.) updating Jdownloader, or b.) restarting the program twice.

Option B worked for me. Hope this is helpful to anyone else who is thusly encumbered.

Adywan ive just finished watching your version of Empire and WOW.Thank you , its amazing .  I can finally watch the best movie ever made in a decent quality.  But PLEASE give some serious thought to giving Star Wars and Jedi the same treament . YOU are our only hope of the getng the original trilogy in an acceptable watchable quality.

( IF YOU DONT WE MAY HAVE TO START A FRIENDLY NON THREATENING PETITION IN YOUR OWN TIME PETITION.)

Grand job Adywan !

One problem with doing ANH would be the censorship. A lot of the laser flashes on characters were removed for the 1997 SEs, so Adywan would have to meticulously recreate these flashes or insert frames from the GOUT - which would be a painstaking process which probably wouldn't give satisfactory results.

Agreed - plus large sections of SW and Jedi would require GOUT material to such an extent that it would be counter-productive. Sarlaac Pit anyone?

Because Empire was, by comparison, only marginally affected by the SE, it is more doable to return it to some semblance of originality.

He already restored those on ANH Revisited and it's only in two shots. Probably by creating a plate from the SE and comping in the extra few frames of the officer from the GOUT, because there definitely isn't any quality difference that I can see between the censored frames and the SE frames. Goes to show that more is possible than you frist realize. :D

That's true, and - like ESB - it wouldn't have to be a 100% accurate restoration to satisfy many people.

Maybe but what about the Death Star battle? A great part of the shots have been altered digitally during this sequence, and leaving the SE CG in a theatrical reconstruction of ANH wouldn't make much sense I think. And the GOUT DVD is crappy quality...

Its also possible to roto around some of the additions, like the rontos. Adywan did this with the most major, most invasive enhancement--the foreground ronto during the "these aren't the droids you're looking for anymore." I think Adywan said it was the hardest thing he had to do to de-SE the film. There's a lot of background rontos that would be more easily rotoscoped out using a GOUT comp that should be about as noticeable as the cloud city rotos in ESB. The hard parts are restoring the OOT-only shots, like the entry into Mos Eisley, the establishing shot of Ben's hovel, and the original X-wing shots. The quality would probably be noticeable. Then there are other shots like the establishing shot of the moisture farm, which might be left as the SE enhancement since it's so minor, or perhaps cropped to the original framing, although you could roto out the extra vaporators if you were feeling ambitious.

It would be possible to do ANH in the same as ESB, it would just be a hell of a lot more work. But one of my main problems is that the contrast and sharpness would still be there. ANH was photographed gauzy, and I think it would just look weird if you put a soft filter on in photoshop. ESB you get away with the SE sharpness because the sharpening was very minor, and it was always contrasty too, but ANH is a different beast altogether. I would be more interested in finding some way to use the GOUT and somehow layer in detail levels from the SE using photoshop or something, but I'm not sure if this is even possible. I know X/0 was doing something similar using Black Magic.

Wow. I did not know that. Good job, Ady!

Yes; but you could probably help yourself with a combination of (a) browsing back through the thread to find the clues that you need and (b) using google.  PM sent.

14/91. that's a lot of pieces!

All I found was 10 pieces.  Doesn't sound like I found the right one.  It's 1.7 GB RAR'ed, so that sounds too big to be Xvid/Divx.  But it sounds too small to be a DVD5.
