It might add to that final part of the scene if his ship started firing on him as well.

Beat me to it ;)

I was thinking the same thing!

Another solution would be to put the whole conversation on the Utapau atmosphere, so it wouldnt be as flat. And finally, you have the cool shot of the ship flying away from Utapau, fading to Anakin and Padme. That way you have Obi Wan first finding what to do, and then leaving the planet.

The last shot of the ship flying by would be a good end for that conversation that ends abruptly.

Also, you can make a 100% new shot of the wave screen, forgetting about obiwan's hands and the window.

It wouldnt make sense for him to leave the planet right where his destroyer is. Also seems like this part of the movie he is trying to keep a secret he is still alive.

Those mockups are beautiful!

That's a great idea, sans_fi!

Another idea is to have the conversation with Obiwan simply parked on the platform. Why should he take off yet? He doesn't know where to go. Then once Bail gives him the coordinates you could should Obiwan taking off from the platform (one of my favorite shots by-the-way)! ;)

The problem might be, during the long shot of the front view... that you might need fading the clouds to space (leaving the atmosphere).

I think I can pull that fade off. Working tonight so wont be able to try this out for a bit. But I'll post when I have something working.

I was about to suggest this too. Great minds eh!

I'm wondering how one would get the effect you see in movies when craft break through the Ozone layer. There's a slight blue haze as it goes through and then space. Might be worth taking a look at stuff like Apollo 13, Space Cowboys, Armageddon, Star Trek: First Contact. I'm assuming all these films utilize this effect.

It is hilarious how Padme (the target of multiple assassination attempts) lives on top of a building with a giant open balcony without even the protection of a hand rail.

Oh Zod.. this movie will be the death of me..

Counting the shots involving balcony, ignoring the moving one is still a hard task :P

Maybe she could have a security force field wall like in a hanger which could be dropped when a speeder makes a special delivery.

Very quick. Im still testing. Ignore the shadows.

Also cut the damn ships that i dont know from where or why are they are searching what..

Also a more...Ryan Church's color approach :)

Good stuff there Angel! I would still prefer it if you might be able to remove more than just the ships. ? The PT is just stuffed with millions of little things in every image...if you could find a way to tone it down...simplify it...that would be good...In my opinion, Utapau should be more desolate. It reminds me of tatooine. It's a sinkhole planet. It should give you the impression that not alot of beings live/survive here. It's a "remote sanctuary" if you will.

Grievous arrives at night

Dark mood for dark times.

Incredible mockup.

That would mean changing many many many lights on couple of shots...

Also, that arrival serves to introduce the planet aswell. And this planet isnt really as recognisable as Hoth or Tatooine. Utapau is Utapau because of its colours. If you have it at night... well, when Obiwan arrives there you might need to introduce it again :D

The idea is to cut as much of the landing shots as possible.

So after that shot a good cut is to be when griev exits the elevator. I will bother make the backdrop with the ship with no sun.

And thats the point. Where grievous is going? its a mystery... We listen after that he is hidind in the utapau system..hmm lets investigate. so behind obi wan we see the planet :)

The original name of Tatooine was Utapau, after all.
