That idea could be used in multiple versions, it could even be combined with something a bit more radical like moving that battle onto the Trade Federation ship.

GIMP can do similar things and it's free.
Can you explain how to do this in GIMP? And can GIMP to batch frames?
I use the Resynthesizer plug in but it's built into the latest versions.
Draw a marquee around a section, go to enhance and use smart remove (it may take multiple passes in sections for larger objects).
It can be done as a batch process as long as the object stays still (naturally).
If you are hoping to do this for moving frames it's probably better to isolate the background process it and then recombine it with the rototscoped foreground elements.
Otherwise you will get a odd looking Predator cloaking device effect as the altered image becomes an animated altered field.
Not Perfect but not bad for one click.

Even im not to the bluesky concept
i still like the process. Remembering the dracula acid planet concept .Bingo im still trying to find ways making Geonosis morel like the Acid Rain planet that vader had his planet.
Im sure rogue leader can give more info for that EU factor

You referring to Vjun? In old concept paintings it's more of a volcano planet but that was changed... Other than that the terrain is rather lifeless and Vader's castle is one of a few structures on the planet. Terrain is rocky but due to the acid rain has been smoothed over the centuries into stalagmite like structures.
Oh and for the comments considering the Geonosians coloration under a blue sky... yeah good points there. I guess I was thinking of counter shading in certain marine animals where the top is darker due to potential predators looking down and the bottom is lighter for animals looking up towards the surface. Also as there is no real evidence of life/predators other than the Geonosians on Geonosis or oceans... I guess they wouldn't have much need to for extreme camouflage or be blue. Will ponder about this...
The impossible is what Rogues do best...

Something a little like this perhaps?
From what I can remember from early draughts of ESB Vader's little home from home was volcanic and populated by demonic looking gargoyle creatures so if Geonosis were to resemble that it would have look almost exactly like Mustafar and the Geonosians would be dark gray or black with glowing coals for eyes.
If you are going for that look why not merge the two locations together?
Possibly impossible but what if instead of some anonymous hanger building, Shaak Ti has established a Republic command centre and when Obi-Wan and Anakin face off Dooku they are trying to save her...leading to the re-established deleted scene in ROTS.
This would create something a bit more like the dynamic of the end of ESB (though Shaak Ti is not a character we have enough investment in but it's difficult to stick in a major character with the available material at least she is in full make up).
Absolutely blown away by your photos, Angel. Also, you've been PM'ed.
@PM aswered. ;)
@RLeader: thanks for the info :D I always forget that name
Planet can be lifeless.
Hoping for some improved CG in the blu ray releases in AOTC not just yoda(if they are going to change him to be the same in all PT)
Even the camera projection that DE did for ANH is better than the 2d layering in AOTC.

What do you guys think of somehow have Boba Fett shoot down Ploo Koon in ROTS. I think there is enough footage of Slave 1 and Boba o recreate the scene.
I suppose it could be done but I can't see the point myself.
I could see some point in taking some of the Jedi deaths and adding them to a montage of future events sequence near the end.
In which case fully masked Vader could shoot him down in an earlier version of his TIE Fighter thus showing Vader hunt down and destroy the remaining Jedi Knights but over a longer time period.
Fett is a bounty hunter but I think Lucas made the mistake of turning him and his 'father' into general hired muscle.
The Empire might use him for tracking but not really for the kill.

But wasn't Boba hired muscle in ROTJ?

Exactly (he is in ANH:SE too) but in ESB he is a bounty hunter, hired to track people not a general bodyguard or specifically an assassin.
A lot of people can't stand the way Fett was used in ROTJ either.
It continues over to the Clone Wars show where 'Bounty Hunter' is a term used to describe spies, mercenaries and just about anyone with a gun who isn't officially part of the military.
Here 's a fact:
No visible hull in the close ups...
This is no Empire that they hide executor's hull with smart camera placement. here we have windows that facing down :) The hull has been established.

What is the difference? I can't remember.
The painfully mistake was in the RotS was the Grevious character. He's military knowlege ended with "fire all cannons!" Really, this was the military mastermind for the separatists? I laughed off the situaton. Then I cryed of course. :D

See all ESB shots that are in the executor or any SD bridge. They placed the camera with that way that they dont have to show any exterior of the ship's hull.
They failed tho in ROTJ.
in ROTS too as my pics showed above ;)

np, sorry I didn't reply sooner. Didn't check this area of the boards in a while. =]
So in looking further into atmospheric coloration, it looks like the reason why the atmosphere of Geonosians should be more orange/yellow depends on how much iron oxide particulate that is in the air at any given time (at least that's what the explanation is for Mars). Since the premise is that Geonosis contains a high amount of raw material mainly iron type metals (to build battle droids) stemming from the assumption that this is why they have the droid foundries are on this particular planet/homeworld. Therefore, the sky being blue is a matter of chemical interaction with in the atmosphere.
Because of it's lower gravity, Mars is not large enough (slightly smaller than Earth) to sustain it's own atmosphere as we know it (which would make it bluer) and so iron oxide particulate is easily kicked up making it orange/yellowish/reddish... If Geonosis was large enough to maintain a gravitational pull to sustain an atmosphere that is similar to Earth then it would be blue overall. This would also depend on what type of sun Geonosis orbits as well...
Anyway... whatever looks more Star Warsy would be my recommendation. =D
The impossible is what Rogues do best...
Something i ve noticed(sorry heavy gif) right click to zoom:
Inconsistence between the shots.
Red rentagle is the shot that were zoomed out matching the other shot.
Blue rentagles are the differences

Yeah, Leader, you don't have to explane now everything, just say, is it Star Warsy or not. :D
@Vaderios: yeah, I get now the point, I'm not dumb, but english is not my motherlanguage. Sorry for that. And for the differencesfor the pictures, didn't different people worked to that scene? As I recall, there is a cut between, when Dooku jumps from the balcony. Don't seems than the visual artists work togeather in Lucasarts... :(
Big surprise... ILM and inconsistencies.
My vote would be to cut out the flip altogether. Ugh, unnecessary CGI.

That is pretty shocking! Thankyfully, I'd imagine it's a simple fix.
personally if I was editing it that flip would be the first thing to go

^Actually something like that (only done better) is something I've been hoping from a fan edit of the PT (now the ANH Imperial Theme becomes the Trooper Theme and rescued from the 'once ran' bin of Star Wars music).
I also hope the droids theme from ESB can be similarly used in ROTJ and the PT.
