Until Ady has time to get his Episode II, III and VI AVCHD discs done, has anyone out there made their own that they're willing to share?

Ewokgroomer made AVCHD DVD-9 versions of WookieGroomer's BD-50 releases.  You'll find them in the usual place.

@Wutwut, you're welcome.

Thanks Chewtobacca.

One more quick question for anyone: What PC software are you guys using to go from mkv to DVD-9 ISO for burning with ImgBurn? Any recomendations?

Never mind. Using tsmuxer and it worked great. Jedi looks spectactular! Thanks again!

Could someone please PM me the RS links for the Ewokgroomer/WookieGroomer's colour corrected AVCHD of ROTJ? Thanks a lot.

Yes; tsmuxer is the way to convert an mkv to AVCHD.  To uncrop a cropped MKV, you can use multiAVCHD or uncropMKV, both by the same author.

@Lord_Vader RS links are not available.  You'll have to look in the usual place.

I actually had one other problem. Using tsmuxer and imgburn, i was able to make good playable DVDs of all the EwokGroomer's mkvs but EPIII, which results in an image file slightly too large for the DL media I'm using. The overage is VERY slight, however there's nothing to remove from the file and I know he optimized these for DVD-9 media. My question is, in terms of available writing space on the black media, are some brands of blank media better than others? (I'm currently using TDK.) And do you recommend DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL? You guys are all far more experienced with such matters, so any advice would be really appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the Ewokgroomer release I downloaded was an ISO not an MKV.  I only downloaded ROTJ, and it was a while ago, so I may be wrong.

The standard recommendation is to use Verbatim DL from Singapore not India, as they are the best (should say on the box).  You use +R or -R based on what your PC uses I believe.  I have always used +R.

TDK are not bad really - I use TDK single-layer discs - so if you have bought some, give them a try.  If you've bought them, you might as well try them lol.

Why people make MKVs that are the size of DVD-5 or DVD-9 discs and don't realize that the size of the AVCHD folders takes them over the disc size is beyond me.  I have had the same problem before, and if I had to burn the file to disc (I play content through a media player, so I usually burn nothing), I extracted the audio and re-encoded it to a slightly lower bitrate e.g. 448 to 384.  This sometimes works, if the file is just over.  Otherwise I transcoded the file, which sucks really, but I don't  know what else to suggest.

I hope that someone more knowledgeable than I can advise you.

Yeah, I thought I was downloading an ISO too, but when it assembled it was mkv. Very frustrating. The ISOs no longer seem to be available. At least not anywhere I can find them on Usenet or torrent search. I guess at this point if anyone can help me get hold of the DVD-9 ISO files for the 6 films in HD, or point me in the right direction to find them, I would appreciate it. Conversely, I've got a nice new spindle of Verbatim DVD+R DLs to send to whomever will copy me a set.

Don't ever get DVD-R DL discs - they're useless for DVD-Video as you can't set the layer break, and I've also found them (even Verbatim branded discs) to be unreliable for data.

Because of the +R, -R difference?

Adywan, Brilliant  done the colours look correct. I can’t stand those who mess with the colour balance at the studios tinting colours to make sky look like crap like purple or another other than blue.

Only the originals from the 70mm six-track Dolby stereo Dolby format 42 will sound better on DVD/Bluray.

I'm still suffering without a dual layer burner.  If anyone is willing to do B&P for Ep6, please PM me.  Thanks.

There is no episode VI of Adywan's releases as yet, only Ewokgroomer's conversions of Wookiegroomer's blu-rays.  There should really be a thread about these, if there isn't one already.

Oops.  The Adywan Eps 4 and 5 are amazing but I half-knowingly strayed into OT wookiegroomer/ewokgroomer territory following the last few posts.  I'll find the appropriate thread and re-post there.

Jedi probably won't be done until next year sometime in preparation for the Revisited edit.  He's still working on Empire: Revisited through the rest of the year, but who knows?  This project was originally a surprise project that he released without warning, he could finish RotJ if he gets time and release it before next year, but I doubt within the next few months.  Sorry.

I noticed that the ESB AC3 track is 640kbps, I thought that the LD AC3 track was only 384kbps how is this possible?

I am a complete and utter noob when it comes to downloading -- where can I find the HD versions of the films?  Can I just pay someone to burn me Blu-ray copies?  Ha.

I really feel out of my element, but this is so over my head.  I just want the best-looking versions of the films possible, and I don't really know how to go about finding them online.  I see talk of finding them "in the usual place," but I'm sadly naive as to where that is.

Just finished Episode 1 and I did a side by side comparison with the DVD just to see the difference myself. WOW, thats all I can say still waiting for the torrents to finish since couldn't find them elsewhere. Really looking forward to episodes 4 and 5

Again I say WOW just finished episode V. I don't think I can remember ever seeing Empire or any star wars movie that clear.
