Actually, I played through the first mission, and enjoyed it well enough. Then I got Left 4 Dead 2... then I moved and now I don't have internet (which isn't why I haven't played Halo Wars, but why I haven't been on LIVE). I have been meaning to continue playing Halo Wars, but for some reason I just haven't felt like playing games lately. Haven't touched a controller in weeks.

I thought Mark Hamill said Arkham Asylum was the last time he would do the joker voice over and suddenly the trailer for the second game has his voice, hmmm.

Did they already do a dubbing session while he was there during the making of the first game or do i detect a little white lie.

Or maybe they convinced him since they realized the guy they replaced him with on the new animated series sucks.

You mean Batman: The Brave and the Bold? I dunno if I've heard it yet. I thought they got a good actor for him on The Batman, though.

Huh? Brave and the Bold got Jeff Bennet to do the Joker's voice, and he's pretty good. Not Hamill good, but he has a pretty much flawless Joker Laugh.

I doubt it was "a little white lie". When Hamill said it would be the last time he'd do the Joker voice, he probably didn't expect the game to get a sequel. Or maybe it is left over audio from the first game. Man, what is with the fast turn over of sequels these days? The first game just came out.

Well they're probably gonna be reusing plenty of models and gameplay elements from the first game. Not too long ago Rachet and Clank was getting a sequel a year, and they were pretty much all stellar.

I just hope Arkham 2 is good as well. I'd like to see them add someone in the Batfamily as a playable character. Damian as Robin would be too fantastic for words.

DAMN! I am shocked there is no talk of Dragon Age Origins, did anyone get this FANTASTIC game? I am having a great time with this one,sux that the DLC Return To Ostogar is delayed, was supposed to come out yesterday, and I see there is an Expansion coming out this March, very cool game,a must have.

also,so what games did you guys get for Christmas?I got these fine titles:
Uncharted 1 & 2
Star Wars The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition
Dragon Age Origins Collector's Edition with Collector's Guide
Fallout 3 GOTY Edition with Collector's Guide
Riddick Assault on Darth Athena
Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion GOTY Edition
Champions of Norrath
Champions Return to Arms

and I put a deposit down for the upcoming Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition and Guide.

So I have a ton of game playing to do.

curious, does anyone here have a Oblivion GOTY strategy guide they would like to sell?

Man, that is some haul!  I got Tomb Raider Legend because I bought it for myself and put it under the tree.  ;/

I bought for the family:

Cooking Mama Wii (Wife)
Ben10 Wii  (6 year old Son)
Boom Blox Bash Party Wii (Family)
Excitebots Wii (Family)
Disney Princess Wii (3 year old Daughter)
Littlest Pet Shop Wii (4 year old Daughter)
Rogue Squadron II GC/Wii (6 year old son (and me too!))
Banjo Nuts and Bolts 360 (Family)
and
Peggle Nights 360 (Wife)

I also picked up Shadow Complex the week or two before Christmas when it was the deal of the week.  If you like Metroid or Castlevania... it seems this is the game for you.  I happen to love Metroid, so I am enjoying it a ton.

Also, don't play the China based level of Tomb Raider Legend while your wife is walking through the room.  Lara is wearing a combat modified black evening gown that is... well... I learned this lesson the hard way.

Also, slightly upset that my manly 6 year old little man has spent more time playing the Pet Shop Game than the manly games I got him.  That's what two little sisters and countless Barbie movies will do to a guy.

Also (x3!) I will probably play Dragon Age in 2020 or so.  I played 120 hours of Oblivion last year from Nov-Apr.  I got even further behind in the backlog of games to inlcude Fallout 3 which I will play in 2015.  The wife and I finished KotOR last summer and are 10% or so into KotORII.  We'll finish that in 2010, so we can play Mass Effect 1 in 2011.  That means Mass Effect 2 in 2012.  2013 and 2014 are up for grabs, but I'm sure something will come along...  We still need to play Windwaker and Twilight Princess too...

Speaking of this, have you played A Crack in Time yet?  It's a hell of a lot of fun, and the splitting up of Ratchet and Clank puts a nice, fresh spin on things.

We really don't talk much about video games on these forums at all. All sorts of great and crappy games that were discussion worthy have come out this year, but very few get mentioned here. Guess it just isn't the right crowd of folks here, or everyone has other places they prefer to hold their video games discussions at.

Last game I bought was Left 4 Dead 2, and I am still loving it to death. Other games I have had slight interest in lately, but have yet to play, are Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2 (never had any interest in Modern Warfare 2 until one of my old friends was telling me about it, and it actually sounds like fun).

I am kind of weary of games that suck away a lot of time. I have just recently dug Fallout 3 out of the whole I buried it in to protect myself from it and have been giving it more of my time (ever see the movie Jamanji? That is what Fallout 3 feels like to me). Just found the last of the twenty bobbleheads yesterday! I absolutely love that game, but it is so huge, overwhelming, and time consuming; I don't think I'd really be interested in ever playing another one of those kinds of games again. Something like Left 4 Dead were I can pick it up, play for an hour or so, then put down without feeling the need to pick it back up again as soon as possible is right up my alley.

I pre-ordered Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition a few months ago and it will be here next Tuesday, anyone else gearing up for this game?

Mass Effect is another game I felt looked interesting, but have steered clear of because it looks time consuming. If I were still in high school or college with a bit of time to spare, then I'd probably get into it.

Both Perfect Dark (Xbox Live remake of the old N64 game) and Bioshock 2 are due out in Feburary, those will be my next two game purchases, and probably my last ones for a good long while. That Bioshock 2 collector's edition looks very nice, including a real vinyl soundtrack, an art book, and a set of posters. Extremely temping, until you see the steep price tag of $100. Guess I'll be buying the standard edition, while that extra stuff looks nice, I don't think it is worth an extra $40 over the games price. Pity, that stuff would have gone nicely with my Mr. Bubbles rag doll and my somethinginthesea.com Rise Rapture, Rise LP.

I went through that last May when I finished my 120 hour run through Oblivion + Expansions.  It took six months.  I fell so far behind on my backlog that I'm still 3 or 4 games behind.

In other news, I finished Shadow Complex this week.  Awesome awesome...  I've already started it again, but I don't know if I'll see it through to a 2nd or 3rd ending.

Next, I have to finish ODST... then it's back to something in the backlog.  Burnout Paradise?  Mass Effect 1?  Riddick?  Who knows...?  Oh wait, I borrowed Uncharted 1 and am half way through that.  Guess I need to finish that one.

Damn bastards presold the Mass Effect 2 collectors edition before it was even released, they let people with credit cards buy multiple copies so they could resell them on ebay for hundreds of dollars.  Thanks for Nothing EA and the brick and mortar and online stores. Now i'll buy the regular edition and i won't rush out to get it either.

I beat the first mass effect with a near 100% completion rate after playing for 50 hours.  But you can probably beat it in 15 if you skip all the side quests and do the main only.  My friend says he knows someone who beat the 50 hours of the game from staying up for two days straight.

I said that dude reminds me of those world of warcraft nuts and probably needs prefessional help.  And i thought i was bad for playing it for 5 hours at a time.  When they recommend taking a break for a half hour every couple of hours to reduce eye strain.

My problem is i have to get my data off the 360 that went to my bros house to my 360, and i'll probably have to recreate my character and play through the whole of mass effect 1 again so yeah like a hundred hours or more to complete the 2 games.

I always check this thread but I feel it leans towards Xbox a lot of time and I have nothing to offer....(poor me)

Im a couple hours into my 2nd run of Assassins Creed 2, I enjoyed the 1st one (though I agreed with most of the criticisms) but the new one is something else alltogether.  I rarely beat a game and miss it so much that I just start over....did anyone else pick it up?  Uncharted 2 was also a stellar game from start to finish

I also lost myself to fallout 3 earlier this year....luckily I was fresh out of a 7 year live in relationship so I had a ton of time to sit on my couch drinking heavily all weekend so it worked out perfectly.  I was psyched for the DLC but by the time it was released my older sister moved into my 3rd floor and im too embarrassed to let her see me get that sucked into it so ive stayed away....too afraid of a fallout relapse

Heavy Rain and God of War 3 look promising.....and ill be pretty psyched to play the new prince of persia in May

I hope the new Prince of Persia is good.  I've loved PoP since the early CGA days, and the Sands of Time Trilogy was my favorite.  I knew it was time for Sands of Time to be put to bed and let something new in, but I wasn't overly thrilled with the direction they took PoP7.  Until I played it.  I never liked it as much as SoT, but I still thought it was pretty good.  When they announced that PoP8 was going back to SoT, I was actually disappointed they weren't following up with a true sequel to PoP7.

I played the God of War III demo on the District 9 BD.  It was all right.  Too gory for me, I'm afraid.  As a non-PS gamer for so long, I was afraid I was missing out on the God of War games.  Turns out the clones and copycats have had me occupied just fine.

I'm playing Uncharted as I mentioned above.  I like the game except for the combat.  It occured to me while playing- I shouldn't have to cringe everytime the room fills with thugs, but I do...  But it seems very repetitive and boring.  The exploring and the story are fun though...  Can't wait to see how they've fixed this in UC2.
