Glad your mom's doing better Ady......Once again Vaderios, great mock ups! Really liked the one in vaders chamber....getting rid of the 1950's static stuff on the display monitor....too bad Ady doesn't like it. Oh well....peace, and I wish I had extra cash to donate....I will try...

I may be eliminating that shot

I reckon your 'composite' shot of Vader approaching the front of the Bridge was a truly awesome new 'camera-angle' which looked great in the context of this preview sequence of (partially unfinished) shots you showed a while back -

The addition of the 'wide' shot of the Bridge along with the 'composite' angle added greatly to this 'Executor' scene I thought.  They really helped to clarify Vader's movement from his last position in the 'alcove' on the right (where we then cut to aboard the Falcon)....to him then going to the front of the Bridge.

After the Falcon scenes in the original, we just cut from the top shot of the 'Executor' and TIEs here, straight to the back of Vader's helmet, then to the bottom shot.  Even though the background in the bottom shot is being amended to match the established layout, I'd still be sorry to see either (or both) of those additional Bridge shots go now.

A couple of other things -  I'm pleased the 'interference' of the viewscreen is being kept, but it'll take a little getting used to not seeing those brief AT-ST moments anymore....  Oh well, I guess any enhancements to the AT-AT shots we may get will more than make up for their loss.

And as far as the colouration throughout 'ANH:Revisited' goes, I was blown away by the 'stylized' look of the DS interiors especially.  Considering the awful base colours of the 2004 version, the overall new look of 'ANH:R' was truly a revelation.  'ESB:R' seems to be shaping up to look equally fresh where it's colours are concerned.

Great news that your mother has improved, and that exclusive lengthy 'asteroid' clip sounds a great preview to start off the New Year with, for those that can help out.

I'm with those that think you should keep the AT-ST. It's only in there briefly but it would be missed.

Eliminate the AT-STs? That doesn't make much sense. They may be in only two shots, but it sounds like you're deleting them for deletion's sake. The Empire does have 'variety' in their forces.

Why doesn't it make sense? Check the scene where you see the one walking in the background after Luke has fallen from the AT-AT. Where did it disappear to? you should see it in the following shots but it just mysteriously vanishes. So i'm not just deleting them for deletions sake, as you put it. Agreed i may be able to keep the one shot earlier on, but change it height, but the one with Luke has to go for continuity sake

Continuity > Oh, that would be cool

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I understand your desire for continuity, but I sure hope at least one of the chicken walkers can stay, for no better reason than I've always been fond of them.

Ady Why Not BLOW UP the one that dissapears ;-)

Nice to see that Ady's back in form with another massive game of "Confirm/Deny".  Some are a shame, others make perfect sense.

Take your time, Ady.  I'd rather have one totally complete version in multiple formats in September than a rough draft in May in some formats and a final version in June in other formats.

People saying the scout walker in ESB doesn't look right: maybe it's a prototype or early version of the ones seen in ROTJ?

I would keep at least the classic first reveal of the scout in the film. The Luke one could go, but like Binx said: just Bay it up. :p

The 'Scout' walker in ESB has longer more slender legs (I actually prefer it to the ones in ROTJ) though they were sort of added in as an afterthought as the model was a personal project that George liked and allowed to put in.

Here's a good replica build which shows the differences well : http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=12659

As it is the Scout Walker if I were to relocate a couple into the action I'd have the in the actual reveal and have the weave in and out of the main walkers looking for a good firing position to take out the reactor.

It would be a crying shame to lose them altogether as they were one of the real wow! moments of my first viewing of the film back in 1980.

It made the Imperial forces seem much bigger than similar foes in films where often the villains would have one ship type or one look.

It also had a pretty unique way of walking which even the ROTJ AT-ST's didn't quite match.

But as always it's Ady's baby and if he thinks dropping them improves his version I shan't pull my hair out.

I always thought that the AT-ST is a bit out of place. When the rebel looks at the walkers coming in the distance we can't see any AT-STs So where did they come from? And why are they seen in just two shoots? There not a bad addition all in all but I wouldn't really care if they're removed from the film.

What I would like to know Ady is will you be adding more snowtroopers to the battle?

NO WAY,  Seriously?

Your going to delete the AT-ST shot??

(Hangs head in disappointment)

I mean look at that thing. It may have been a prototype at the time but it still looked awesome!

I remember first seeing it and saying to my friend next to me, WHOA! did you see that thing?, man the Empire has a pretty cool array of vehicles.

And of course they did cause they were the freakin EMPIRE!

Just noticed a slight goof, not sure if it's been corrected.

Somewhere right around Vader's "With our combined strength" line to Luke, the angle switches between in front of Vader to above him and Luke.  During one of these changes, Vader's outstretched hand goes between closed in open.  Minor, but it's there.

Same here, I noticed them for the first time when the SE came out. I remember thinking it was a stupid and unnecessary addition, considering they are nowhere else in the battle.

So yeah, go ahead, cut them. They serve no purpose anyway.
