"Ady's MO from where I'm sitting is that "if it ain't broke don't fix it""
Agreed, which renders about 95% of what we discuss on here completely redundant :-)

Not at all because what works in the original theatrical cut of ESB may not work if you are trying to do a special edition.
ESB is the high water mark of the series so certainly discussions on the other episodes are far from redundant.
That isn't what I said. I was saying that if someone were to make an edit with the same MO as Ady, which I think is the best approach, then the vast majority of what we discuss is redundant. And it is redundant because so much of what is discussed is about changing things because we want to, not because they need it, going by "if it ain't broke...".

The thing is though that having the Emperor say "the son of Skywalker" twice is just repetition that isn't needed. The original dialogue pre-2004 worked perfectly and that is how i want to return it, even though i have to substitute "Luke Skywalker" with "young Skywalker"
I can understand wanted to go back to pre-2004 dialogue. But Adywan, might I suggest a minor change?
VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?
RIC OLIE: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
VADER: I have felt it.
RIC OLIE: We have a new enemy -- George Lucas.
VADER: Yes, my master.
RIC OLIE: He will try to keep me out of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
VADER: He's just a hack. Spielberg can no longer help him.
RIC OLIE: The Force is strong with him. The son of Lucas must not become a filmmaker who answers to no one.
VADER: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.
RIC OLIE: Yes. Yes. He would be a great asset. Perhaps we could even get him to insert me in Return of the Jedi. Can it be done?
VADER: He will join us or die, my master.
Ady....how's the edit going? What are you working on right now? Peace.....

That's great. Really, that sounds excellent. I hope Adywan considers using this idea.

Yep, that does sound pretty good. Some final tweaks and polish and I think that could work!
O.T. or No T., baby!™
As I said before I'd like to hear applied to the correct line.

Oh what the heck, everyone would probably guess that you were both a Sith Lord and the Chancellor....not to mention the best observer out of the whole freaking galaxy! :D

They sure do. In fact I remember watching TPM for the first time at the cinema (aged 9) and I momentarily confused Ric Olie with Palpatine, lol. But after the movie finished I finally realised that Palpatine was The Emperor from ROTJ :)

Well, on the modelling side of things, i've been building the skeleton for the new Wampa puppet. The jaw was a bit tricky to get a more natural movement than was in the original puppet and make it look like a real jaw bone and not something that just pops open. The facial sculpture of the Wampa is complete and the mould has been made ready for the latex to be applied. I've made the head section so that it can be worn by a person, although they wouldn't be able to see out of it. The puppet is going to be a head and shoulders, the same as the original, but unlike the original it is also going to feature a section of the arms. When he swings at Luke in the opening shots i want the audience to be able to see the shoulder movement and part of the arm lashing out.
On the video side of things, well what i have been working on is top secret. This is going to be something that i won't be revealing until the movie is released.

I did try using "Luke" from this DVD but it didn't fit quite right in the correct section. When he is playing the Emperor he has a slight croak to his voice which is missing from this footage. I might play about with it again when i come to the audio, but if it doesn't work then it will stay as "young Skywalker"

It sounds like it'll look impressive; a lot of hard work too, but something that I'm positive will look most impressive once complete :)
Wow, whatever it is, I am just gonna joyously salivate anyway :D
I take it TESB is your favourite episode?

I really just put that link there for Ady to have a listen to see if he could insert into the audio mix, I wasn't too sure if the Musical Journey narration had been mentioned before in this thread.
I have applied the 'Luke' to the correct line, and reinserted it to the Adys Test Video (with the original GOUT Emperor) URL:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe3h4p-tqk4&feature=youtube_gdata
Like I said, it would be better if Ady did it, but it should give you rough idea how it could sound done properly!!

Great work there Jaitea with a bit of tinkering I think it could fit in seamlessly.
I actually think that Young Skywalker sounds better. Just my two cents.

Had a feeling this Musical Journey had been talked about before, the 'Young Skywalker' works fine as it is.

Young Skywalker just makes me think of Are You Being Served?.
Ha "you've all done very well'
That's where my boss gets that line from!!

There's an episode in the related searches called The Bliss Girl and Arthur English (may the gods bless his merry bones) manages to sneak a Star Wars reference in there.
Such a odd feeling watching that so many wonderful talents sadly missed.

i don't know but i think i prefer "young skywalke"r to just "luke skywalker"
I don't think the "Luke" works when placed there at all. I strongly vote for "young Skywalker."
And that's some pretty intense work you're doing on the Wampa, Ady - I can't wait to see the finished product!
Personally, I prefer how "young Skywalker" sounds from a dialogue standpoint anyway.
