Has anyone made a DVD Cover and label for this yet?  Can't wait for this to be on the Star Wars Fan Films Shelf.

The excellent cover for the Puggo Super-8 Edition was made by boba feta - unfortunately his site (which also had covers for JD's and ADM's projects) is down at the moment, hopefully not gone.

According to boba feta's profile he is still visiting these forums.

Looks like Puggo's New Disc goes into a blank DVD case for now.  Ah well.  Cover and Label will come soon enough I gather.

Gimmie a few days, I'm just about to leave on a roadtrip, but I'll see what I can get together when I get back.

I kind of like this one as it matches the look of the film. :)

I've got a textless version of it on my HD somewhere...

Where were you in '77?

Just saw this yesterday, great work Puggo, it's amazing I got to see a film print of Star Wars 77, on dvd!

Yes, 16mm could look better, this is a poor print, faded, but... what the heck, I like it!

Of course there were more scratches in the initial and final parts of every reel, but that's common to all film prints.

When I was taken into the action, scratches and not-so-great colour disappeared completely.

During the final trench run I was watching with my eyes wide open, and when the Death Star blew up I went "yeaaahh!"(wich includes "yeah Luke made it!!" and "yeah original explosion!!".)

I don't know if it's my eyes or what, but I noticed reel two had slightly better detail.

As for the extras, I liked them both, nice to see how you repaired Greedo's subtitles. The menu was exactly like I expected it to be :D

Once again, Puggo, great dvd!

Finally thanks to ThrowgnCpr for helping me getting my copy.

...Time to see it again...

Hey Puggo, grabbed a copy and had a look.....lots of time and effort was put into it I can see that and I thought the end product was great

Its too bad about the other print having hard subs since it appeared it would have better video quality after color correction, clearly the american copy got more play times than the other version

Still great work, hopefully someone can get you a 70mm print to work with :p

Puggo, i would just like to say a huge thanks for this. Watched this last night and it brought back a lot of memories for me. The first time my daughters got to see Star Wars on the big(ish) screen was at our old local mini arts cinema in 1993. They were showing a 16mm print of '77 Star Wars so i just had to go and see it. It only seated 30 people but luckily i knew the guy who owned the print so i got some free tickets. I can remember about half way through the film the sound going and then the reel broke so we had to wait about 20 minutes for them to sort it out but this didn't spoil our enjoyment.Even though my eldest daughter had watched Star Wars on VHS almost every day since she was about 6 months old ( Born in 1987 and the only thing that would stop her crying in an instant was hearing the Fox fanfare followed by the Main Star Wars theme and she was mesmerised until the final credits finished) she loved every minute of that night.

So thank you again for all your hard work on this project and bringing that little piece of my past back to me :)

LOL, yeah, I saw this when I was 7, and really want to see an "unaltered" version if you know what I mean.

I loved Adywans fixed version of EPIV, and I have been over to Puggo's site to see the sample pics, WOW, I REALLY am drooling here.

I may be new on this site, but if you look around I only use adonian as my forum name on every forum I'm on... TDH, mandomercs, sdsws, mydellmini, LOTS of forums LOL.

I just hope someone will put it up on fanedit although its not truly an edit, but a restoration.

I've sent out over 50 disks... still several PMs to respond to.  Anyone else wants a copy, please find someone to trade for it, or grab the rapidshare off of throwgncpr's links.  At this point I need a little break.  Thanks!

Puggo, just had to say how much I enjoyed seeing this. You obviously put in a lot of hard work, and it was worth it. A very unique way of viewing the original Star Wars. Lots of fun, feels like I got my own copies of the reels and played them on my own screen. The public service announcement was a real treat, and looked great! Definitely a permanent addition to my collection. Thanks for making this available for us!

A quick question, I remember seeing a short youtube video I believe you did a while back involving the transfer of the old Star Wars movie viewer, you know the one where you held the viewer up to the light and cranked it by hand? It was like a spoof of sorts showing the "restoration efforts", with the actual film at the end. Do you have that available in better quality than youtube? That would make a great companion piece to this.

You can find that clip on YouTube by searching for "Rescuing Star Wars". I didn't include it in the Puggo Grande, because my next project will be a restoration of all of the movie viewer reels.  There was a brief thread about this here on the forum you could search for.  I'll be posting more details on this within the next month or so. For those of you who remember that thread -- I have finally decided on a name for it!

I also have almost completed a 16mm transfer of the special edition trailer, which will be one of the extras on that next project.  I know, nothing new there, but it looks kinda cool in 16mm.
