What (to you) is the most foreboding/tension filled star wars music track/cue?

Mine is Leia singing the Life Day song to the tune of the Star Wars theme. Scares the pants off me every time. Yub Nub also makes me take a step or two backwards.

Beyond that, "scary" has never really been something I'd equate with SW, musically or otherwise.

Why do you think Parade of the Ewoks is scary?

The Imperial March (Darth Vader's theme) is one of the 'scariest', also the 'magic tree' music.

But "Jedi Rocks" is hands-down the most terrifying. ;-)

Seriously?!

It's terrifying in its sheer horridness, along with the scene that accompanies it, made worse by the fact that it replaced a good song (Lapti Nek) & a good scene.

I'd say the alternate cue to "Binary Sunset".  Definitely foreboding.

I'm pretty sure Jedi Rocks is prohibited by the Geneva Convention.

"The Walls converge" theme adds a great tension to that EP4 scene. I would say it is the scariest to me.

I'd just like to state here, once and for all, that a SONG is a piece of music with VOCALS. The term does not apply to instrumental music, such as film scores - piece/track/cue is fine, but not song.

Now please pass this on to the rest of the internet k thx.

Actually a song doesn't even need music but it does need words ex :

For me none of the music is scary as such but The Magic Tree is rather spooky especially with the sudden appearance of synthesised sounds (putting the piece out of the usual range of Star Wars Music), Padmé's Ruminations has some strange evocative sounds on there too.

If it's soundtrack music in general The Eggs (from Alien) and Night of the Electric Insects (The Exorcist) hit the mark every time.

the music when Han discovers that the asteroid "cave" isn't really a cave.

Sure, he did just say, "Scariest star wars song?" in the title of his thread, but in his actual post he wrote,

what is the scariest star wars music/song/track to you?

I think this sufficiently proves he knows the difference between song and instrumental music.

Considering that there are hardly any actual songs in the Star Wars universe, let alone scary ones, it's clear that he considers the terms to be (at the very least) interchangeable.

But don't get me wrong, my little rant wasn't intended as a personal attack on the guy - I was more despairing of a prevalent misconception that I've encountered again and again wherever film scores are discussed.

So far we have listed three (3), and all three of them are damn scary! There are several others as well we have yet to mention, especially if you want to count things like the theme song to the Ewoks cartoon series (which is also of the stuff nightmares are made of).

Just in case you really are trying to make a serious point...

From his posts it's clear that the OP meant scary in the literal, rather than wacky and ironic, sense.

Actual songs are only ever used in celebration or for light relief - 'scary' isn't even close to being a factor.

But there are certainly plenty of scary score cues. I think the creepiest is the one that accompanies Boushh/Leia's sneaking around Jabba's palace and reawakening Han. The tension doesn't break until the helmet comes off ;-)
