well I will have to synch the PCM's,they are way off,the sound starts way to soon,so these are not already synched to the GOUT LOL.

That's all well and good if YOU think that's the way to go. It looks like I'm the only one making suggestions so I'm feeling a little weird about that....make YOUR set and myself and others will be sure to appreciate your work...
I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.
I am not sure of what route yet to take, the retail versions of this set are done, they have been done.
just messin with other sound options is all.
and I thank you for your comments and suggestions, all are very much welcome,so keepum coming LOL.

Thanks DM,those delay settings worked fine.
Here is an ESB sample of the 3 different audio options I have,it is in VIDEO_TS form already to burn to a re-writable DVD'r:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/769jta
The first audio is the official GOUT audio, second is Belbucus 93 PCM encoded to DD 2.0 Surround @ 384,third audio is satanika's DD 5.1
file is 133 MB's in size.
Very nice looking video sample DJ. IMHO the offical GOUT audio is shit. So for my money it's between the other two. Realize this is coming from 40 yr old ears, and not being an audiophile with all the lingo and tech knowledge....I like the straight LD Belbucus PCM ripped audio the best. Santanika's 5.1 is good but it seems to lose something going from the 2.0 to 5.1. The 2.0 PCM is crisp clear and rich sounding....just like I remember the Laserdiscs. Anyway for what its worth there ya go.

well I will wait a little while longer to let other's chime in,but I am leaning towards swapping the original GOUT audio for the Belbucus PCM as well, and I will do that to all 3,and the 5.1 won't fit on the DVD,I wish it would, but it won't.
but for the record,I really like the 5.1 mix,it has some good rumble.
Damn, that third track has a shitload of punch man.

If you're gonna do the PCM track as DD 2.0, then it deserves 448. 448 just sounds so much better than 384. 384 sounds weak and overly compressed to me.
Is there a reason you'd go for 384? Do you need to make it 384 to fit in with the existing audio of the GOUT disc?

Do you really hear a difference between 384k 2.0 and 448k 2.0?
Considering that 384-448kbps is most commonly divided among six channels instead of two, I doubt more than 1% of the population could distiguish between them.

ABX log or it didn't happen! ;-)
Actually, could we please start a new thread about Dark Jedi's custom DVDs and continue the audio discussion in there? This thread is supposed to be about g-force's AVS GOUT script.

Sure do.

Fair enough. Already have and yep 448 really does sound slightly better than 384 to me (won't go into detail here).

Sorry Moth3r. Point taken.

Damn impressive script it is too! I tried the script out a few versions ago and was soooo impressed with the results. Nice job G-force.
One question though, can someone please tell me how/where the GradFun2DBmod filter gets squeezed into the script? Sorry for showing my ignorance, but I'm pretty new to Avisynth etc.

Thanks man! You could just stick the GradFun filter at the end, right before the subtitle stage, but I'm not convinced that it does anything beneficial yet. I'll try it out when I get a chance.

Okay, I'm going to eat crow now.
GradFun2DBmod shows some significant improvement in banding. I'm having difficulty using it at the same time as my script, due to the fact that the new pre-release of removegrain doesn't include clense for some reason, which I rely upon heavily in my script. I will need to find a work around.
Expect a new version of the script sometime in the future.

damn I knew I should have waited, well the delete key is easy to find.
@g-force - As I previously said, I had problems using GradFun2DBmod. The script previews ok, but causes errors with CCE (for me anyway).
GradFunkMirror produces almost identical results without the problem.

Just wanted to tell you,I will help you with this if you need,I still have ALL files still on my drives,so if you want some rendering tests or encode tests,or screenshots, just give me your updated script and give me the trim settings and we can look at whatever scene\scenes you need, and whatever new filters we need for this,I can add them to the pack I made for this a long time ago.
Just thought I would throw that out there.

Thanks for the suggestion Doctor M, I'll give GradFunkMirror a look!

Thanks DJ, I'll let you know!

@g-force, I think the reason DJ was able to use GradFun2DBmod without a problem is because he encoded to lossless first. Sounds like you are sending this right to your mpeg2 encoder.
You could try going to lossless as well. It would definitely save you time later if you are doing multipass encoding.
Dr. M
g-force you have any tests you want run yet ? I am bored and need something to do LOL.

Did you get any DL verbatims yet? ;)

not yet, have to save my $ for this weekend,we are going to Chicagoland Speedway for a weekend of NASCAR fun! (GO #24)
I will hopefully have enough funds after to snag some.
I agree that the 2nd track has the best overall presentation. The 5.1 comes close and has more of a punch, but out of the 3 the PCM wins hands down. Whoever did the GOUT audio should be put into carbon freeze.
