Haha that's actually what came to my mind first. Sinister.
brash_stryker said:I might be missing something here, but why all this talk of redubbing Jar Jar with a British accent?
Why would that work?
Because he's evil, just like the Imperials? ;)

I was very careful with my choice of words, British does not mean English, like the Imperials.
If people don't like the Gungans being British, they can download the alternate audio version, or, if they get the .iso they can switch the audio tracks and try it both ways.
Why not just go the magnoliafan route and subtitle Jar Jar?
That way you can make his character anything you want, without worrying about lip syncing or aught.
As long as it doesn't sound like they're talking backwards. That always sounded bad to me. :p

Well it's usually assumed that whenever someone uses the term "british accent" (which I hate by the way as it implies that everyone in britain has the same accent) that they mean English.
If you didn't mean English, what DID you mean? Welsh? Scottish? Irish? Or any of the regional dialects in between?
I'm Welsh myself.
The easiest thing to do with Sydo-Dyas/Syfo-Dyas is to (with a bit of tinkering) make him into Qui-Gon (or at least the references to him).
So when the Geonosians claim to be working for a Jedi who died 10 years before it fits with what we already know.
In reality it could be Sidious using Qui-Gon's good name to get up to some nasty work behind the scenes which would leave the Jedi scratching there heads.
Was Qui-Gon going rogue like his former master?
Did he know what his former master was up to and prepare for the coming storm?
Is Dooku the Sith Master and Qui-Gon was trying to counter his moves from behind the scenes because he knew how far up the conspiracy went?
With all this talk of changing the fighter craft and the like it might be useful to look at some of the strange aircraft designs of yesteryear (as any attempt to do this would need new models).
Here is a nice web site with some very bizarre and often Star Warsian looking real life aircraft.
I like this idea Bingowings, however it still leaves the fact that the Jedi use the army regardless of where it came from. Which is moronic to say the least.
I love the idea of qui gon be a double agent.
Nothing left in fate in TPM when qui decided to go to tatooine and find anakid
Also i like that dooku mention qui gon, that means he could be behind a bigger conspiracy!

Yoda is shown beginning to tune into the Qui-Gon Force frequency in ATOC (or is it the other way around?)
Qui-Gon does find and put his foot down about Anakin (and we all know how he turned out).
So while it doesn't completely fix the problem (only a trip in the TARDIS armed with a cricket bat could do that) it does ease the problem a bit if the Jedi ability to sense what the dark side is up to is clouded and they assume that one of their own made the necessary preparations.
They are stuck in a difficult place.
The Senate have rushed through a motion legitimising the creation of an army that already exists to counter a threat that already exists.
In a sense the clones are outside their control anyway.
It would be also help the situation if somehow a call for continued investigation and assessment of the army was made. Yoda seems to be the most sceptical while Mace and Obi-wan seem to see the army as a gift from the Force (they should have checked out the horse shaped parcel before pulling it into the city first however, such are the many perils of the postal system).

I was actually thinking about Welsh, preferably.
More cloudy something shots.
To be honest i really have fun making these :)

These changes make Naboo less like Florence and more like Venice or even Portmeirion.
Naboo isnt in Venice? I mean some shots?

So, why does that clip run 5 minutes if all you did was change the opening crawl music?

Some shots of Naboo remind me of Prague. Maybe we could go more with cold theme. Hell the prequels could use some snow to tell you the truth. All of the planets in the movies look hot.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Not nessesary cold, just more serious and less cartoon like.
Mood is everything.

I just miss the FANTASY aspect of Star Wars. Look at Dagobah in ESB. It had a mystic almost Spielberg esque Fantasism . If someone can bring Fantasy to the PT then you are truly a master. Vaderios your mockups have been bringing the fantasy aspect back good work. The prequels made Star Wars a universe I wouldn't want to be in. Midiclorions, Orange and Pink tints, Yoda CGI and Skinny Puppet. What happened to you Star Wars. I thought Star Wars was supposed to be like the serials of the 30's and 40's.

My vision of Jar Jar has him more like Threepio. Albeit a more alien, less submissive Threepio. His dialogue will be tamer, and no -sa suffix.
