I could also help out and I live in the UK.  Sent you a PM adywan.  I'm really happy that this 14 gig mkv will soon be out.  The picture quality was impressive.  There were far fewer if any h.264 artefacts in the sample you posted a while back.  I will also be able to help out seeding a torrent of this.  If anyone can suggest a good tracker to upload it to.

I do not have access to a DL burner, so I need to play the file directly from my PS3? How do I do that?

When I view the file on my computer I only see the iso, mds, and nfo files. I've already downloaded the UDF 2.5 reader - yet nothing has changed. Am I missing a step?

I think it's ok in the case of an innocuous, flat little package. Things only go wrong when it's a big package where they know what it is, it seems. ;)

@BountyHunterMount the iso with a virtual drive program. Then you can use your blu ray software player to play it. Or, open the disc and find the stream folder and play the stream in something like medial player classic.

Having a bit of a problem here chaps and chapettes.

I downloaded the iso hoping just to take screen captures to build a higher Rez version of the PS mosaic of the interior of Ben's Hut I made for doing mockups (still and later video) of the Ben's ghost at his old house idea I posted over on the ESB/ROTJ thread.

Like this one which I made with the DVD version of ANH (only hopefully better when armed with something of higher definition) :

Empty Hut

I can't find anything that can open the iso image in linux at all, even with the select team of the better half armed with several cups of tea (+++UPDATE Isobuster seems to be able to see the contents I'll post what happens just incase anyone else is in the same desert skiff+++).

If any kind soul out there armed with the HD version could PM me with enough screen captures to do the necessary I would greatly appreciate it.

The above image has worked out fine for small mockups but if I were to move into something a bit more ambitious the extra detail from a HD image could make all the difference.

+++BREAKING NEWS+++ The tea worked it now plays in VLC like a dream and the picture is top notch. So assistance is no longer required, Now I have to get down to doing the hard work again+++

Do any of you guys have a LG BH200 player? I have one, and tried burning the movies (both ANH and ESB) to discs via img burn and nero image as well and can't seem to get it to play on mine. It seems like it picks up that it's a BR disc, but then gives a internal read error. I've tried burning a few discs, but they all give me the error. Not quite sure what's going on.

I've just tried burning this twice to play thru VLC and both discs appear empty?   What am I doing wrong?!?

AFAIK, it will only show up in a PS3, no?

no. If you have the UDF 2.50 driver installed you can view the video in windows using VLC, Media player classic amongst other players. Just open the BDMV>STREAM folder and just play the .m2ts file

Just a quick question. When I use the test clips, they will play in vlc but with little jumps and lags. The audio has no issues. Things are slightly better when I open the file through the streaming option.  I wanted to make sure what this meant before I tried to download the real thing. I'm referring to the IV sample. The clip with the pre-2004 Emperor works almost flawlessly-just a few little lags. I tried the 14GB sample of ESB and the video was one giant lag. Not sure if I have the UDF 2.50 driver or not (running on Vista).

It sounds like your computer isnt up to snuff. It plays on mine flawlessly. Make sure that your hard drive is defraged and that your not running any other programs in the background.

What kind of PC do you have?

My PC is a Pentium 4, 3ghz (ya, old...I know ), I had a lag issue while playing one of the sample clips - the video slowly lagged behind the audio.

Oh yes, Old CPUs cant handle HDs.

LAg to image and delays to audio.

I suggest an upgrade. A graphicks card that is decent one, a new CPU (maybe quatro core) and some RAM for better flow.

I can't find anything that can open the iso image in linux at all

just mount it (and you can do this with any image)

mount -o loop FILE.iso WHEREYOUWANTTOMOUNTIT

(i create a Loop directory under /mnt and mount stuff there.)

any recent kernel will support udf 2.5.
