i was wondering if there should/could be differences in the sabers lazer sizes like broadsword size rapier size and so on

I'm not sure on either should/could.  Really doesn't make much difference, as broadswords are heavier by nature than rapiers, but lightsaber blades are theoretically weightless.  You could try to thicken or thin them all day, but it wouldn't make a difference except to be another thing to worry about keeping consistant.

Seeing as in the OT the sabre fights are clearly between people who use similar weapons it might be more a PT edit idea so perhaps you could post it on the Prequel Radical Redux Thread.

With Maul's double ender being around in the prequel era I could imagine a few more variations being around back then but I can't see it happening in the OT especially not in ESB.

Yeah, once they changed their idea. :p Lucas wanted them to appear to be heavy at first and Luke always had to hold it with two hands. (just in fight scenes, maybe?) But then the first time he ever touched one, he's swinging it around with one hand. Hmm...

Well, anyway...nobody gets the bonus points. :( ... ;)

This is what I did...and it's gonna seem stupidly simple.

All I did was Chroma-Key the green of Luke's saber, and has a pure blue 'layer' under the main video. Voila! Instant blue saber...or red...or any other color you want. :)

You green-screened his saber?!  That's awesome!  It worked really well for just doing that!

Padme also made a bit of double entendre about Anakin's being heavier than she thought it would in the Clone Wars series (presumably the hilt).

Maybe it's like a lawn mower, the Sabre may be light but the vibration from the energy gives it an impression of weight over time, that and the weight of the hilt could make it difficult for an inexperienced user or a quadruple amputee to whirl around.

Just watched "Returning to Jedi' on youtube. Excellent documentary.

It got me thinking about how small ROTJ felt, considering its the huge conclusion. It seems that all these nifty things were shot, but not used.

-Madine's death.

-A female rebel pilot

-Three Pruneface aliens (I totally had that toy) in the Rebellion

-The infamous sandstorm.

I doubt the elements are available to add these, but this additions, probably less than 2 min of screentime, might have made the film feel much more expansive.

The first time I saw him (basically when I got the toy, as I never noticed him in the movie until afterwards), I thought 'he must be a bad guy.' But no, he's a good guy! Haha. Another example of deceptive appearances. It's a shame we didn't see him with the Endor strike team, cuz that's where he was going, based on the camouflage duds.

I wonder if Pruneface was originally an early attempt to make a mask to match the original Palpatine hologram from ESB.

He has the brow and the eyes, the lips are right out though.

The Lucas gang seem to like to re-cycle stuff and if they already had a mould made they might have re-used it to make these guys.

watch palpatine speak in the PT and then watch the Emperor speak while in the thrown room. u'll notice a resemblence in facial movements.

That would be because they're the same actor.  McDiarmid as Palpatine in the PT was very good, but then he was "transformed" into the Emperor ... and it all went to shit.  I mean, come on, he doesn't even look like the ROTJ Emperor at all!

They should have only done subtle makeup for ian. Shit just sith eyes would have been enough.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas
