This is interesting, just stumbled upon it in an interview about the audio for the new Indiana Jones game:

The soundtrack is composed of about 40 minutes of brand new tracks created by Gordy Haab and Ray Harman. The rest of it (hours of it) is made up of never-before-heard music from the days of Raiders and Temple of Doom. We wanted to keep the feel of the old movies, but we didn't want to beat you over the head with the old music. It strikes a great balance.

This DVD with the isolated ROTJ score isn't an official print is it?

I'm sorry Iv'e dissapeared guys... things come and go and stuff.

I do have some news, I'm still working on the set...and plan to send some over to a friend for some tinkering and hopefully a soon release.

I had to step away because of life things and time and computer issues... but I'm wanting to get back and finish this set... I got pretty far and I'd hate to just leave it almsot done.

To those of you who are Jurassic Park fans though, I've completed my score edit of that. I did one years ago which, ironically, if you look anywhere online, My edit is the one you will find. It started as a three disc set and is usually cut down to a two disc set (disc 1 and 3 are nearly identical except 3 is the "complete" score and 1 is the score as heard in the film).

Anyway, I used the conductors score to replace missing moments and to fix certain cues... I have it up now...

But I'm gonna try to get back into this soon

No, EditDroid made it. And regarding the "lost" track, Beatho says "There's a slight part of it used in EditDroid's isolated score release of ROTJ but it's only about 10 seconds of it that is then looped. It's also used in the documentary 'From Star Wars To Jedi', but these, I think are the only sources." ABC also heard it and said it's not including in a set.

Yea I realised that the few seconds used on the EditDroid release are pretty much useless. The quality is good at best and it's not even the right 10 seconds that is needed for either scene.

The music from the documentary is much more complete but as, to my knowlege, there has not been an official DVD release of this, there is no way I can see to cleanly rip the seperate channels.

I'm still hunting here and there, searching the deepest darkest dregs of the internet but I haven't found anything new in weeks...

GM, it's nice to hear from you again, hope it's all going well. I didn't quite understand your last post, are you saying you have a clean rip of this lost track? Anything you have would be of amazing use to me.

Adrian,

I've encountered many dealers selling copies of ANH:R at Collectors Fairs, Memorabiliaat the NEC,  Collectormania and even at one stall at a Car Boot at Birmingham Wholesale markey on a Sunday morning. There are a few that turn up on Ebay and iOffer.com. It's something that can be questioned, but then again - Ebay don't question it. Star Wars is a big revenue to them - look at the Holiday Special DVD's all over it.

GoodMusician: Thanks for all the effort on these Star Wars soundtrack scores. :) It's certainly not right for someone to take your work and then try to sell it as though they did it. Ignore people like that, everyone here who keeps up on this subject at all knows that you did this work. :)

Still looking forward to your compilation of the complete score for Episode III, which I don't think you've finished and released as yet. :)

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

Yea... I actaully had almost forgotten... I'd moved on a bit because GGCTUK had been doing such a great job...I've been hearing a lot of great edits around these days too... I :sniff: feel... like I'm no longer needed lol...

I have gotten my FTP updated recently, so I can start posting things on it again.

I PROMISE I'll get these up as soon as I can guys. Thanks for being patient. I just do want them to be "the best."

yeh i've seen this myself at Memorabilia at the NEC. Confronted one guy and got him thrown out. I'm off again to the NEC in November so i'll have to keep my eyes peeled. One thing i hate is people making money off other peoples hard work

One thing that annoys me is the constant lies from LFL about the ROTJ soundtrack that they can't release the missing music because the masters were lost. Well the masters may be lost but the music does exist. I was watching the HD versions of The Science of Star Wars the other day and they contain a 5.1 audio track. Now The dialogue and sound effects from all of the clips apart from TPM were clean and didn't contain the movie's music soundtrack and these were clips from the SE so not old press release clips. Also when the DVD's were created Ben Burtt created a new mix with the music a lot lower than it use to be. So obviously the score is still available in a clean mix form. So why don't they just use the movies mix to recreate the soundtrack?

good question... the Tomlinson mixes were the best things... they still existed in about half of the cues for ESB, so they simply used those...

As for the music mixes for the films themselves, not the music only masters, no idea...

that's where I'll be posting it

Unless space runs out, then I'll have to get back with heileman about uploading it

thanks

Are discs 1 and 2 of 'Jurassic Park' uploaded somewhere else?  I'd love to get my hands on those ... (downloading disc 3 at the moment, haven't gotten a chance to have a listen or even see what's on it yet)

---EDIT---

Nevermind, it would appear that the "Disc 3" download is the whole thing.  What were the first two discs, then?

I could reupload them. I only reuploaded Disc 3 because I redid it.

Disc 3 has mostly everything ...Disc 2 would be the only thing with extras but I can reupload them

I've been meaning to get more stuff up

I'm nearly finish with Indiana Jones: Temple of DOom, and Raiders of the Lost Ark
