looks pretty slick. Dunno why but that Lando pose makes me think of Mola Ram from Temple of Doom.
Might i suggest obscuring the feet of Yoda et al with cloud haze? - they appear to be hovering above the walkers.

I knew something was bugging me
Fixed, cheers :-)
Didn't do that in photoshop by any chance??

Wow I got to look forward to 2 movies related to star wars. ESB Revisited and
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Wallpaper featuring the wham shot:
Okay, so I held off watching the trailer 'link' until I could catch it on the biggest monitor I could....and the footage looked phenomenal!
Having known many of the shots involved only as still images for a while now, it seemed dreamlike to finally see some of them 'in motion'. It was like seeing some of these scenes for the first time, considering the amount of tweaking added to them.
The colouration was glorious as always, and there was just so much goodness on offer. One of the highpoints was the 'cloud city approach' of course. First moving through the 'wisps'....and then the hint of sun 'glare'. Sublime stuff.
I guess the biggest highlight for me was the shot of the Falcon blasting off from the platform, as I'd asked for it's 'landing legs' to retract during that scene, so long ago. I always wondered just how that shot would come out, and it turns out you made them retract at just the moment I hoped they would! I didn't realise back then how wonderfully you'd execute the new sky and cityscape to complete the shot though....
And the sky in the 'railing' shot was exceptional too.
The final 'Emperor' is terrific, along with that much needed second "Yes...." and if you HAVE used the 'side-onwards' shot that doubleofive recently 'mocked-up', then wonderful, as his mainly-hidden features looked suitable creepy in that. (Great stuff on all those comparison shots by the way, doubleofive. Thanks for your helpful efforts on that)
Anyway, everything looked ridiculously good now overall, and it's so neat to see greyer TIEs in this.
One thing I will keep my fingers crossed for too, is for some of that extra 'TIE-firing' goodness that looked so terrific in a past preview. Like others here, I missed that now....along with the accompanying sound FX that were there in your previous version.
All in all, this is exceptional work, and you have continued to exceed whatever expectations I once had. It made my day. :)
Just saw the trailer... speachless. I just shut my mouth and go watch it again, and again, and...

Some things to make it better.
Eliminate the damn photoshop lens flares and use custom ones ;)
All the heroes are fade exept the Droids and boba. if you want to pop up, make them in different size.
Some slight motion blur to snow speeder.
Luke has some bad outlines. Manage to have all the heroes a uniform color and sharpness
Sabers can not overlap.
You have MF on the top right when the top left is empty, bad balance.
The orange sky thing dont work so well. maybe an other sky.
Add an asteroid field somewhere maybe.
You don't leave space for any titles.
Thats some things than can make it better
My 2 Credits.

Here's the full-sized Cloud City frame captured from the trailer with VLC. It's instantly suitable for wallpaper use, I know, I've had it as mine for a week now!

Thank you for the trailer Adywan, it looks amazing! Actually I can't describe how i feel. It must be probably also very emotional for you to make so many people happy with this footage.
And to mister creator GL, if You read this, thank You as well for letting somebody else making a serious work of restoring Your movies in a most competent and serious way.
This is imho one of the best things that happened on the internet since the beginning.
Cheers everybody!

In other words...Start again!!
;)
Speaking of posters.... Here's the cover for my eventual DVD cover for ESB:R (actually, the entire cover is finished, but since this thing isn't coming out until next year, I guess there's no reason to put it out just yet).
The image is just the straight up alternate version A poster, featuring Bob A. Fett, Lando, Cloud City, and one of those Hoth radar dish guns in addition to the usual fare on the non-alternate v. A. I always loved this image and wanted nothing more than to use it for this cover. Of course, it has a custom Revisited logo and Adywan's name to match my prior cover (which is getting a new Revisited logo treatment as well).
Certainly, a hack job, but there's no chance in hell I cuold ever paint something as good. I'll leave that up to Ady next year. :)

O.T. or No T., baby!™
^^In other other words, vaderios should make one himself (or modify that one, if he's allowed) so he'll be satisfied. Ha!
;)
That may be a "hack job" Savage, but I really likes it!
Very nice, Savage! All this cover art is inspiring me...

My favourite ever poster from Star Wars.
I've always prefered this version to the other style. This was the first SW poster my late mother bought me as a child back in 1980. It stayed in my room for years. Love it.
I agree.... It was the great age of the great posters...

i liked the SE posters (not the SE changes as much e.g lukes scream oh yeh that reminds me )

I've watched the trailer a few more times and I have come to this conclustion:
Adywan can make one helluva trailer.
I realized that the 'story' and dialogue of the trailer work absolutely brilliantly. Sure the trailer is a nice display case for his sfx work, but the trailer would still be outstanding even if he made it with the untouched GOUT or the 2004 DVD's.

I agree. Every person I've showed it to wants to go back and watch Empire again. :)
My nit pick for the trailer is an obvious one. There is A LOT of black screen mixed into the brief snippets of new shots.
I can understand that Ady wants to give little away at this point, but i dont like black screen. The music was fantastic and warranted the black screen, admitedly. But i just wanted to see a little more of the snippets, so i didnt have to go slow motion to apreciate the work done so far.
Im just hungry for more i guess.
So, no one else noticed the bad compositing/outlines of Lando, Leia and Chewie on the balcony? I'm sure it's ILM's fault and not Ady's, but is there any way to fix it? It sticks out.
