When I transferred to the iPod, I called it "ABC's Remastered ESB", etc... For the LPs, it's "ABC's & 7FN's RSO ESB Remasters" or something like that. Just wanted to keep it simple. For the artist, I used London Symphony Orchestra.

Ah ! Then, it's now time for your review :) ! lol !

... I just asked the question to know how people will be able to find them and to know what it is. Not obvious to call them a simple thing like "remasters", because the SE's are yet meant to be remasters.

...Mistake !

There might be a confusion: The 7FN LP's transfers have been called "Pure Versions" because they haven' been remasterised at all. I didn' t touch anything. I just share them because 7FN had a low connection to make it himself.

7FN has produced very well balanced transfers and he is the only one to be mentionned for this work ! (Of course, your Ipod doesn't care).

My only touch is about the covers. ;)

Speaking of covers, on the rear of the Empire Strikes Back, disc 2 track 13 should probably be titled "LOSING A HAND".  And, on the rear of the Return of the Jedi, the number for disc 1 track 13 isn't colored blue like the rest of them.  Just some minor glitches that might be worth fixing for next time.

I may not have called them exactly that, which is why I said "something like that." I just wanted to call them something simple to find them easily. I still have the FLACs for CDs and on the computer, too.

I already mentioned it, and ABC fixed it :-)
There was a zip with fixed covers in the PM with the updated ROTJ score, if you didn't get it, PM ABC.

you're right, I missed that one!

@ ryanvb

Hi, would you be able to add the zip file with the corrected covers on the alt. binaries ? Thanks ;)

@ Ripplin

That's ok. I noted that point for those who would catch this topic directly on the current posts, for there's no confusion. :)

Did anyone notice the sound drop out at the very beginning of "Sail Barge Assault" on the updated set for ROTJ.  I think it could be fixed quite easily.

There is a slight dropout during the very first note of this track.  Compare with the standard CD.

It didnt bother me so I am still happy.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I noticed it, it's there - it's a very, very, very short drop-out at the VERY beginning of the track.  The music starts, there's what sounds like (in video terms) one frame of silence, and it continues as normal.  It's subtle, but it's there.

Oh I see !...  A so tiny fault next to the flatness of some of the cues from that score or other corruption matters.

... Then, may I suggest you disconnect your brain and just enjoy the show. ;)

Didn't hear the entirety of the RSO's just yet, but the Imperial March's restoration sounds absolutely superb, didn't even hear any scratching on it unlike the credits version of it.

I got these and let me say: absolutely superb sets. I've always liked music from these movies a lot, and this is an absolutely fabulous set. I was hearing instruments in the music I hadn't noticed before, which gave me a better feel for what John Williams was trying to convey with it in the movie. I even set up my Anthology wet where I could listen to one track off the CD, then one track from this set, and this set blew it away. Granted, I haven't listened to all of it (there is a ton of music here), but everything I have heard is better than anything i've heard before.

Kudos to you ABC, for putting together and cleaning up a great set! I'll be enjoying this for quite some time.

Thanks. It's always a pleasure to know how much this set is enjoyed.

:) ... I liked to read your comparison with the Anthology because I didn' t make so myself with the final versions of this work and, although I have it, I listened only two... Perhaps three times ! (and the SE's have never run more than ten minutes each time I tried).

I want to put this awesome set on my Zune. What would be the best way to convert this to a compatible format with the least amount of quality loss?

Burn it to a CD using Nero or Toast or whatever it is you use to burn CDs.  Alternatively, you can do what I do and make a disc image that you mount later without using actual physical media to save money.

Then you rip it like any other CD, preferably at the highest bitrate possible (320 kbps is very good quality IMO - for these, I used iTunes' Apple Lossless).  If you want no quality loss, use WAV or any lossless format compatible with your Zune (possibly AIFF) - problem there is that those are entirely uncompressed formats so the file sizes will be larger even than the FLAC originals.

If you want to convert FLAC to WAV, you can just use the standard FLAC program to convert the files at no quality loss.

Other, more knowledgeable forum members who are familiar with Zunes might be able to help better than I can, though.

Talking about programs, does someone know how to convert Flac to wav on Macbook (or Mac) ?

Use MacFLAC.  Or Max, but MacFLAC is pretty easy to figure out (it's just like Windows' FLAC front-end), while Max is a bit more complicated (but more versatile at the same time).
