The "EditDroid" Trilogy DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released) — Page 30

Hi, guys!

I've been a lurker for a time, but I've always thought that the comments made on these forums have been very interesting and genuine.

I'm writing to see if anyone might assist me in finding the 4-Disc set of EditDroid's Special Features. I've looked everywhere with little luck, and I really have no idea how to access the newsgroups I've heard about on this forum and on others.

I heard that some folks were PiF'ing (is that a word :)?) this set a while back. If there is anyone still out there who is doing this, I would be an active participant (i.e. I would check back here for others who need it, and I have many Star Wars fan friends). Any other suggestions are welcome, as I am very anxious to view this set someday.

I thank everyone in advance, and I will try to be less of a stranger around here.

May the Force be with you,

Samlark

The three main DVDs are currently seeded at pirate bay as torrents. I've had no luck finding the extras discs. Arnie.d was kind enough to seed long enough for me to finish the main set, and I'm personally committed to long term seeding on those three, but my upload is kind of slow.

If you manage to get your hands on the extras, let us know, as I'd like a set as well.

Yeah, Spudz speed is pretty slow (no offense, but 1 KB/s on my end... although my client tends to speed up later).
edit- I love how I haven't even completed one percent and I'm seeding faster than leeching.

If Arnie's reading this and would be willing to seed ESB, that'd be very nice.

Yeah, it's a combination of several things. First, my ISP throttles torrent uploads (although not downloads, strangely...), even when I encrypt. Second, I'm seeding all three Editdroid discs, plus Adywan's Revisited and AVCHD releases, plus miscellaneous other stuff. I'm lucky to ever get 15 KB/s total upload, then split amongst the myriad things I want to seed... All I can say is that it'll get there eventually, I'm not going anywhere.

Yay, only 400 hours to go!  :D

Well... that's meant to be both biting sarchasm and a thank-you.  I'm sad that that's how it works, but I'm very glad that you're willing to stay on seeding.

Believe me, I understand the frustration. I've been in your position more times than I care to remember. Unfortunately, I'm the only seed for several of torrents I'm seeding, and I'm not going to jump ship on those. I'm working on a workaround. If it comes out right, we'll be in much better shape.

I found the torrents of these but there were no seeds what so ever so i will be waiting for ADYWANS edits in stead.

Well, I'm not sure what torrents you found, but when I search Editdroid at Pirate Bay, I find four torrents, all of which are seeded. I know the speed on these torrents is kinda slow, but even at 2-3 KB/s, you'll probably finish these before Adywan releases ESB, much less RotJ. But hey, your call...

finished episode V, will continue to seed for awhile.

I'd like to get Episode IV but it doesn't appear to be on Pirate Bay.  Only Empire & Jedi are there.

There are other Episode IV EditDroid torrents on other sites but they are labelled Mysterious Mysteries so they are probably the original version & not version 2 which has the selectable crawl.

PS  I'd love to get disc 4 of the extras for the reinserted music scenes & the LP player.

No, mysterious mysteries is v2.  That was the first to get to the internet.

Thanks for clarifying bkev. I'll grab that then.

And if I'm wrong, the way to tell would be to check the audio options and menus.  Either way, the original is interesting if only for the mono mix.

Now would be the right time to hop onto ROTJ, a mysterious seeder has signed on and I'm getting over a hundred kbps.

I do have all three discs of this set uploaded to adrive.com. I'm willing to PM a list of links to those who are interested, with the provision that after downloading it, you get on the torrents and seed a fair amount back. The details: 12.2 GB in a split rar, 63 pieces, 200 MB each. Sorry about the number of files, but I couldn't get larger files to upload properly. The site claims files up to 2 GB will work, but I couldn't even get it to take 500 MB.

Apart from star wars, (which is quite a nice capture by the way). I wouldn't waste my bandwith on the other two. Your better off with the GOUT.

Explain, please?

A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em

dot crawl issues all over the place and lots of video noise.

Author

^^^So... just like GOUT? I don't see much difference between the two, and you (I) might as well have a complete set.

Can anyone supply me with the DVD-ROM content for EditDroid ROTJ ? The links for it in this thread have long expired.

Thanks to Starkiller for attempting to fill the void and creating ROM content for the TESB disc. The recreation of the ROTJ material is appreciated, but I thought maybe people might want the actual material. So here it is, along with the jacket pictures.

It's a shame that some folks distributed "stripped" versions of the DVDs. And still some people can't understand why the desire to maintain quality control was a factor in our decision not to disseminate these discs to the general public. ;-) All in all, it's that perpetuation of amateurism that made me stop contributing to and even visiting places like originaltrilogy.com.

Thanks Moth3r, that made my day.
Yes you were among the 'target audience' in my decision to re-post that old message. I hoped you'd read it and have [another] chuckle.

For those who've joined us later, that previously appeared in a.b.starwars on 2005-06-30

And if anybody else need a link for that DVD-ROM content . . . just ask Void
or me.

Thanks again for the help guys. Can someone confirm that ESB lacks any original dvd-rom content ? (I'm not referring to the Starkiller supplement.) What about a JACKET_P folder?

I'm trying to reconstruct the original discs with all folders intact. ESB is the only disc left with nothing but a VIDEO_TS folder.

Also, does anyone recall the proper volume labels for each disc? I want to use the correct names when creating the ISOs.

It was an evolutionary process. Our first project was a Star Wars disc
that was quite different than the one in wide circulation. It had no
ROM content. The second project was Empire, which again had no
content. When we moved on to Jedi, we decided to include some ROM
content, but made no special way of presenting it. We then went back
and did Star Wars again, this time with the isolated score, and when
it came time to make the ROM content, we decided on the html
presentation for the McQuarrie art.

I wish we'd done ROTJ like the second SW, but you can see the timeline
above shows why we didn't.

Anyway, in the interest of presenting the
cat-what's-been-released-from-the-bag in the best possible manner, the
extra stuff from SW and TESB are on the way.

So no ROM content for TESB, but yes JACKET_P for all three.

Will you be including the official artwork on the discs? I don't believe it was included in the filesystems originally.

I've no idea about volume labels. I think SKot & Sluggo got their copies straight from the horse, as it were....

So why does the quoted text appear in a different font than the one I posted last night?
