Brand new at this Suggestions and help welcome

Hi all

So I just got a VHS/DVD recorder and have decided that I am finally going to attempt  to transfer my 1995 Star Wars  (OT) widescreen edition box set to DVD. I know, It's VHS so your all probably less than impressed, but the quality is good enough for me. So I could go about this in two ways I could just do a straight transfer, or I could transfer to disc then import into my mac and add a menu with chapters etc. I'm sort of leaning toward the later but I have no experience in this area so any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I realize that there is a wealth of info here on this site and most likely everything I need to know is here, but I don't know what to look for, so if all you do is layout the steps I need to take and maybe direct me to a thread or two that would be fabulous.

Thanks in advance!

Now off to search the site.

P.S. I figured since I am asking for help that the How To section was the correct place for this post. If however I was wrong please forgive the transgression and move the thread to the appropriate location.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

To add menus, etc. to your VHS transfer you will need DVD authoring software; for the Mac popular choices are DVD Studio Pro, DVD Creator or Apple iDVD.
