I plan on using it as source material for future editing. Does anybody know how to convert this type of format into DVD?  Or MPEG-2?

The ISO is a UDF 2.5 file system, so getting to the files inside the ISO is your first challenge.  The only file you probably need is BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts.  The container format of the 00001.m2ts file is MPEG-TS.  The codecs used inside are h264 (video) and AC3 (audio).  For editing, you'll probably want to go with an AVI container, and lossless video and audio codecs.  Only convert to MPEG2 and DVD VOBs after all your editing is done.

Some good news (for the PT fans). I got my laserdisc of TPM yesterday so i can begin work on the theatrical version of this in the week. I haven't had chance to listen to the 5.1 track yet but i'll begin ripping it tomorrow and then begin the long editing process shortly after. This will probably be the next release.

that is good news! woo hoo!

Would definitely appreciate the 1080p AVCHD of Raiders. I downloaded a 720p version off Usenet and while the PQ was good, it didn't have 5.1 audio. Very disappointing.

i agree i cant access demonoid to download the torrent because i cant register

and i would rather not pay for usenet for 1 download

if somebody could sent me the .torrent file via email it would be much appreciated

It's on ThePirateBay .. search for Adywan, if that doesn't work, check recent torrents ;)  Dunno why Demonoid has to be so silly with signups.

Forgive the slow upload speed, that's all I've got.

Adywan... would the THX WOW DVD be of any use in your TPM project? Original Theatrical  Pod race with DTS...

anyone know what I can use to play this on  Mac? I'm not sure if DVD player would work and I don't have a Blu-Ray player so I'd probably look at it on my mac and then convert it to a wmv or something for my xbox.

I burned to dual layer on my MacBook 2.4GHz C2D using ImgBurn in Windows 2000 via VMware Fusion. I probably could have used Toast or Disk Utility in OS X no problem, but was interested to see if I could do it through Windows virtualization. Worked great without any problems. Nice to have ImgBurn on my Mac! Anyway, I don't have a PS3 or an HDTV, so I used VLC in OS X to play the .m2ts file on the burned disc and it worked flawlessly. My MacBook scaled it down to 720p for its screen and it looks beautiful. No problems switching through the audio streams either. Ady, nice job mate!

So, on a Mac, burn the ISO to disc and play the .m2ts file in VLC. You'll probably need at least a newer dual core Intel Mac to play smoothly...

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

I'm in the same boat, TV-wise. (I have a PS3, though) Ady recommended one to me and it's $500 off right now, so maaaaaybe I'll get a new TV soon. :)

I think I'll try it with VLC right now, though. *trying* Yep, it works. It would pause after a bit, though the audio kept going. I'm hoping to watch it on a TV soon now, though.

you need the UDF 2.50 driver to read AVCHD discs on your pc. You can get it here:

http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/Xbox_360_HD_DVD_Windows_page1.html

Just scroll down until you see the link for the driver. Don't forget to restart your PC after installation and you'll be able to see the disc correctly after this.

AFAIK, it will only show up in a PS3, no?

no. If you have the UDF 2.50 driver installed you can view the video in windows using VLC, Media player classic amongst other players. Just open the BDMV>STREAM folder and just play the .m2ts file

Ady, why are you going to using the Laserdisc audio for Phantom menace? Is it better than the DVD audio? Also, why not release the other two prequels sooner? for ROTS all of you have to do is literally add one wipe to make it the theatrical version.

The phantom menace has an extended cut of the pod race scene on the dvd.

As far as i can remember, only the Laserdisc has the theatrical cut... right?

I know but he has to cut the video to match it anyway, why not just cut the audio too?

Hmm, instead of burning a disc, I wanted to mount the iso and copy the  .m2ts over to my PS3. However when I try to mount it, I receive the "invalid file type" error. I installed the UDF 2.5 driver, rebooted, and even tried using another application to mount the image. I still get an error message.

I'd rather not go buy a stack of DVD 9's just for this; So does anyone have any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

The THX WOW! DVD has the original theatrical pod race, anamorphic, with DD or DTS, and could easily be re inserted into the extended DVD.  It begins with Anakin starting his pod, and ends with Sebulba saying "poodoo" or whatever.

Thanks.

What did you use to mount it? Daemon tools has problems with BD images, so possibly AVCHD too.

You could try SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive.
